I didn't know where to post this so I chose hobbies. But I think it's more like internet volunteering. I have been an active seti member for a few months now and I am satisfied with what I have done. For those of you who don't know what seti@home is:

The program runs when you aren't doing anything and uses very little bandwith. There are even teams that combine their computings so it comes off as a game. Some people are so into it that they have computer farms in their basements with just computers downloading and 'crunching' data.
So have you heard of it? Have you tried it? What do you think of it?
