Photoshop Help Please
Photoshop is a tool that takes time to learn and the best way is to play around with it.
www.pslover.com is a great site full of searchable tutorials with step by step instructions.
Although i would consider myself an advanced user of Photoshop I still learn new things from this site.
photoshop is one of those applications you can never fully learn - it is just so hugely diverse!

Here are a couple more sites you might want to check out.
http://www.absolutecross.com/tutorials/photoshop/
http://www.grafx-design.com/phototut.html
http://www.spoono.com/photoshop/
http://www.photoshopcafe.com/
These are the ones I use the most but do a google for Photoshop Tutorials and you'll find loads of sites.
As with any tutorial it's a good idea to follow it exactly the first time then doi it again with your own changes to see what effect the change has.
Enjoy!

I had to essentially learn photoshop and cinema 4d in three or four months for some school stuff. They needed some abstract work and for whatever reason I mentioned I owned both programs through the school and got stuck with it. Watching other people was what I did for a long time. It's a great way to learn. The real art in photoshop isn't so much knowing how to make this cool abstract, or blend this image, but knowing how to apply each different kind of effect and knowing how it will look in the end.
Photoshop is a learn per use program, every time I use it again I learn something new, and I have been using it for five months now, nearly every day

I have\had\currently work at a graphic design company. I can tell you anything you need to know. Or I have enough books that I can find out. The key to making awesome abstracts is filters. Take a picture with a digital camera. I have a canon EOS Digital Rebel 6.0 Megapixel. Then take the picture and start familiarizinf yourself with the filters. One at a time. Depending on your computer you may need ot get somethign to eat or work on homework in between each filter application. try applying multiple filters on top of each other and try them one at a time. This way you can learn how to make certain effects and recall them on demand. Filters will make some crazy abstracts, really wierd designs and shapes. It can be a lot of fun.

| I haven't seen a few that I go to or used to go posted so I'll post them here. They're mostly for advanced photoshoppers.
http://dutchdesignz.com It's a great site with great tutorials and an awesome forum for support and anything else needed. http://guildinn.com My first and only GFX forum that I actually joined and was almost really active on, but I left for a few reasons. http://planetrenders.net It's a site that has a forum and a place where you can get renders to use for sigs and I'm pretty sure they have a tutorial section, but I never bothered with that part of the site. http://codedfx.com It's a site that I just found out about a few days ago and I like it a lot. It has coding tutorials as well as photoshop tutorials and some of the tuts are really good. Note: All these site require no registration to view their tutorials. That's why I like them so much. |

The best way to learn is just playing with it, the tools are pretty self-explainatory and simple to use. Maybe try the 'troubleshoot' on the 'help' tab.

Now, as much as I'd like to actually teach you the basics; doing do over forums will take forever, and be full of confusion anyways.
I suggest you take a look at the other sites mentioned here, aswell as Good-Tutorials. I've always found myself getting into programs by using tutorials. You can play around and find out things on your own, but when you follow tutorials, you'll slowly start gettign the program, since what the tutorials do, is infact demonstrate how things are done for you.
Am I clear enough?
I suggest project09.com, they do not have so many tutorials now but the ones they have are excellent. Very good effects you can create.
try totaltutorial.com ........and use google to search for any photoshop tutorials...
This isn't a tutorial, but a package with over 7,000 photoshop resources. ie. Brushes, styles, fonts, and custom shapes. It really helps me a lot when I make stuff in Photoshop. It tells you how to install it on the site.

www.good-tutorials.com has a lot of good tutorials, like coloring, drawing, effects, and many other catagories.
a good place for tutorials is http://www.good-tutorials.com/ . this place will give you everything you need to make the good stuff! I even saw something there for abstract work, so you're all set! Good luck!
