VNC and Fedora Linux Firewall

Hi there all, I need some security tweaking tips, I am running a server which is running Fedora with seLinux enabled and the fedora firewall enabled.

My problem is, is that I can not get a VNC connection to my server while security is turned on, the only way this works is if i choose to disable the entire firewall (my temporary sloppy solution) I howevr would like an elegant way of allowing me to bypass the firewal when I attempt a VNC session.

Any tips

Well, the firewall probably has ports blocked that VNC requires. Maybe you can modify the firewall to not block the ports used by VNC. By default, VNC uses ports 5900 to 5906. You should reconfigure it to unblock those ports. Hope this helps! Wink

just to add extra info you can find your VNC port numbers in the .vnc directory.

just enable which ever port your VNC server is listening on and thats it.
