Manchester United getting Americanized!!!!!!

This is so funny. Malcom Glazier, who owns the NFL Tampa Bay team has gotten pretty much full ownership in MU. Even tho i dont live in the UK (Norway) it is getting a lot of press here. The fans are freaking out about it and think its the end of the world. I think MU could use a little change tho and i am sure it will do them good. I hope Malcom gets them on TV a lot more and buys in some new players.
I do credit the fans for being die hards tho. I am a huge fan of the NFL and NBA and the fans for the majority of the teams are definatly fair weather fans and come and go as to how well the team does.

Any MU fans out there still crying over this. >I hope to hope on a Ryanair flight his year and watch a game- looks like a blast and i am sure it will be great watching despite being owned by a American.!!! Hope MAlcom is there too !!!

The only thing I would suggest all the MU fans is to give Glazer a year. Let's see what does he do. If he is really intent to run up huge debts, I believe there will be worldwide protests not just UK.

I personally feel the British are feeling threatened that all facets of their life are now under the control of Americans. The protests were probably more of an anti-American protest rather than against Glazer per se. Would the British have protested if Glazer was British ? Why weren't the fans of MU outside Britain so concerned ? Are they any less fans just because they don't have the priviledge of visiting Old Trafford every weekend ?

i am sure that the Glazer family are in this entirely for the money and that they have no interest in the game or the fans. this for sure spells disaster. i have worked at Old Trafford football stadium (home to MU) and the feeling is that businuss inside will boom but when it come to fans and loyality, these will be disreguarded

I'm an American. I've seen how Glazer does things. Yes. He's in it for the money. He's a businessman.

BUT. He's a businessman that recognizes that in order to make money, you have to please your customers. In order to please United fans, Glazer won't raise ticket prices through the roof. He won't tighten the transfer purse (he gave a green light for a Michael Owen transfer if Ferguson chose to do so). He may be a businessman, but he's a smart businessman.

Give him a chance. Maybe a year or two. Don't just reject him because he's an American businessman. How can anyone expect him to care about the fans if all the fans do is send him death threats.

He brought a championship to Tampa Bay, a team that had become synonymous with losing. He built them a new stadium and gave them something to cheer about. He can't be that bad. You people talk about loyalty. Stick with your team. Don't jump ship without giving this guy a chance.

See, I believe if the Glazers have a bit of brains, they will understand that unless MU performs on the field, there will be no fans, no merchandising, and consequently no money. So at least to make more money, I think the Glazers will contribute something to MU, bring in new, exciting, young players, and get the players to achieve results, win trophies, etc. If they do that, I don't think MU fans should be complaining
