You can't. You will need a domain from somewhere else and use their admin panel.

I believe that Uni.CC offers DNS settings although I have no experience using this.
FreeDNS definitely offers this capability, and you get a choice of subdomains to use.

I'm here because the topic mentions CNAME.. sorry for bringing up a moderately old thread.

Does this mean I can't point one of my subdomains to an Invisionfree forum? The forum says to point the domain to z8.invisionfree.com using a CNAME record, but I don't really know anything about what that is. Embarassed

If you have purchased a domain name, you will be able to use the registrar's DNS control to configure the CNAME record. However, Frihost does not give you DNS control, so you will not be able to use a .frih.net subdomain with CNAME.

Ah. Okay. I'll just redirect the subdomain to the Invision site, then.
