I'd like to learn PHP and MySQL

I know very, very basic PHP, and looked at MySQL for about a minute and immediately got confused. I was wondering if anybody here knew of a website that could teach me PHP and MySQL so I have extensive knowledge of the languages; something that doesn't just give examples of some codes, but explains all the aspects of the languages. If anybody knows of such a place, that'd be great.

Thank you in advance for any help. I'd really like to learn more about PHP and MySQL so I can make a more advanced website than I'm currently able to design. Smile

A good book is always a must apart from tutorials. I have read PHP 5 and Mysql Bible (Wiley) and its amazing. The reason I liked it coz I had previous C programming xperience. I will recomend it if u have C/C++/Java (ie C family of langauges) experience.

I also recommend getting a good book on the subject along with using tutorials. The books will give you a lot more about the therory while tutorials tend to concentrate on specifics.

PHP Hacks by Jack Herrington
