Don't be; some pdf writers make the file's title the application it was created in -dash- the original title. Hope it explains.

that XP style on fvwm certainly had me confused for a second. Nice screenshot all the same. Where did you see that or is there somewhere you can download the theme or configuration for it?

Edit: sorry just saw the link at the bottom of your last post!

I don't get you. What's so funny about that screenshot? That's just Evince displaying a PDF file. Question

Well, some particular application write the meta info as application name - filename while converting to pdf. This one is converted from a word file, and when opened in evince, showed like that.

Look at the title of the application. It says Microsoft Word - circular2.doc (cir152006.pdf)

Yes, Microsoft likes to put their name on everything. In this case, the original document was no doubt written with Microsoft Word. When it was converted to pdf, the conversion program gave it a title based on the type of file that was converted, a .doc file.

Those titles occasionally clutter up my ubuntu desktop, too. But that just reminds me that there are still a lot of people who haven't yet understood the power of free software.

I like that XP-like screenshot. How could that user set it? Unbelievable. But I like it. ^_^
