FTP from Windows Explorer (IE) in active mode?

I have tried to ask this question, but kept being locked out with a comment use active mode.

How to use active mode with Windows Explorer (actually using IE as windows launch IE to run ftp addresses)?

I know in FireFox, you can use FireFTP extension, but what about
from IE or Windows Explorer?

Hope to find an answer other than "Use active mode and period".

Download an FTP software - FileZilla, LeapFTP, SmartFTP, CuteFTP, etc... google 'FTP programs'.

Filezilla is working, but I often working in Windows Explorer, and USE to be able to use ftp from the Windows Explorer's Favourite Menu to activate FTP to frih.net. This allows me to work with Explorer and cut/copy into my web site seamlessly.

Until recently, suddenly I cannot browse my public_html folder (time out).

I am not looking for ftp programs, but to make Windows Explorer/Internet Explorer able to use ftp with my frih.net site.

How to set active mode in Internet Explorer is the precise question.

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced
Under 'Browsing', uncheck the Use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility) checkbox. Smile

I should have browse through all the options earlier.

Very much appreciated. I am able to connect to my ftp site in frihost from within Windows Explorer now - life is back to normal.
