Risingsunn's Tidbit O' Wisdom

RisingSunn
In an effort to help "lighten" the mood in this forum I am going to try to start a weekly post for little pieces of wisdom that I have gleened from my short, but interesting life, and try to get others input and thoughts on them.
I find that religion for most is a touchy subject but philosophy is something that others can engage in without judgement.

"Whether you think you can, or whether you think you can't, you're probably right." Henry Ford

What are your ideas on this? Do think this is true? How does this apply to you?

I believ that I can judge people by thier philosophy just as much as I can judge by thier religion. Or was there something else I was supposed to be paying attention to?

Nice quote. I don't know what he meant, but I guess something like: if you think you'll succeed, you have courage and so you have a better chance to succeed. If you don't believe you'll succeed beforehand, you'll probably fail, because you don't dare to really try it.

So: you're deeds are a selffulfilling prophecy.

I think it's wise from Ford. You have to know yourself and be honest: are you able to do something? Go for it! You can make it! Don't you dare? In that case, don't even start trying! You'll fail!!

I'm curious about your next post.

Jim,
People take disbeleif in their religion like they take "yo mamma" jokes about their parents. I find thought that peoples philosophies about life can be more easily discussed without offense.
Isn't that interesting? Shouldn't ones philosophy about life have a direct corelation to their faith?
IE: one's philosphies on how to live and how they perceive life SHOULD come from what they believe. Yet so many times they are seperate. They BELIEVE one thing yet LIVE another. Something I too need to take to heart.

Things that make you go Hmmmmm....
