This site has a very nice animation of where and when the 5 major religions (Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism) evolved and how the developed over a course of 5,000 years. This is very interesting!

I was surprised to see that the Muslims at one point conquered half of Africa, almost the complete India and good parts of Eastern Europe, wow! Shocked

Also interesting to see, Christianity is only a European thing until like 1800, then it spreads worldwide and takes over the majority.

i like this a lot, however from a Christian perspective i appreciate Christianity's diversity and have to laugh at what a generalization this site makes Christianity out to be, but at the same time it makes me wonder of how much this site generalizes the other religions? I'm sure a Buddhist or a Muslim would similarly laugh as I did which makes me appreciate the generalization all the more.

There are a couple of problems with your opening statement.

Mainly, christianity is is not the major religion of the world. Buddist, Confucism, and Muslims outrank christianity if you count the numbers that actually practice their religion.

Christianity is the #1 most popular religion in the world, with Islam as #2. If you add up Buddhism, Hindusm and Islam then together they are a larger group than Chrisitans. While #1, Christians are still not in a majority, but it is more populous than any other religion.
