I have a digital camcorder and I've already recorded many videos, but I can't transfer them to my computer. I tried every kind of cord, but it just doesn't work. Help please!
How to transfer videos from the camcorder to computer?
1. you should have a cable that has a standard PC USB Connector on one end and a connector at the other end that fits into your camcorder. You may have to open a plastic tab somewhere on the camcorder to find where to plug the cable in.
If you don't have a cable then take it back to whereever you brought the camera from it has to come with a cable - otherwise 99% chance a standard USB data cable will do the trick - this is the sort that plugs into most mobile phones and digital cameras and can be brought at pretty well any half decent compter shop.

If you find a cord that physically connects the camera and pc,
then you can use a free program like DVIO

to capture the video and audio as you play it in the camera.

If you can state what kind of digital camcorder you have, that would help. If it is a dv camcorder, than a "firewire" or iee1394 cable is what you need. On the camcorder side, it would be a 4 pin (small, rectangular looking) connector. On the computer side it might be either the 4 pin or 6 pin connection which is a larger rectangular connector with a flat side and a rounded side. You can find cables with various ends to fit your specific needs.
You need to know whether your computer has the 1394 input. Some computers don't come with the 1394 (firewire, i-link, etc., they're different names for the same kind of input) connector/card. If your computer doesn't have one, you can buy the card for about $30 and install it .
Let us know how you are doing.

Oh, and if you have windows xp, it comes with a prgram called Movie Maker, which will aow you to controld the camera and select what you want to your hard drive. If you have the option, save to a hard drive besides the one you operating system is on.
