Man Keeps Drinking Beer During Arrest

Quote:
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Police say a man they pulled over for driving drunk continued to swig his beer during his arrest. Patrick Allain, 35, faces numerous charges after his arrest Monday night, the fourth time he's been arrested for driving while intoxicated. Police say he hit two other cars and initially refused to stop when officers tried to pull him over.

When he finally stopped, Allain allegedly continued to drink a 40-ounce bottle of beer, telling officers, "You can charge me with whatever you want. It's not going to stop me from drinking and driving."

Got a link?

And from his quote, he should be charged with intent to drink and drive, and get put in jail for a while, or something like that.
Madic
why would he be charged with intent to drink and drive when he was in fact... drinking while driving?
Star Wars Fanatic
No, I'm saying, in addition to being charged with a DUI, he should get charged with intent to continue to do it in the future.

That's crazy. I didn't know you could be chraged with intent to drink and drive. But yeah, that guy's a moron. Stupid ****** like him are the reason for the deaths of many innocent people all over the world.

Now why would you want to waste whats left of a perfectly good beer? You're damn right you better finish it. I don't care if you are being arrested, mugged or being beaten to a pulp by your girlfriend. You better finish that damn beer!! Besides, what else what the idiot supposed to do? Throw it away. Yeah, so the cops can also charge him with littering!!

This guy knows how to live for sure.

Drinking and driving is bad enough, but to continue to exhibit such disrespect for the law and for the lives he was endangering, this is unacceptable.

I agree with star wars fanatic that he should have gotten some good time in jail for his actions.

I agree with lyndonray. A good (or any) 40 is a terrible thing to waste.

PS - so many pedestrians, so little time . . .

Haha....what a trooper. Razz It's pretty stupid to do what he did, but heck, why not? Razz

Am I safe in assuming that those of you who think the guy is some kind of hero for his lack of respect for the law (and every sober person on the planet) have not lost anyone close to you due to the actions of a drunk driver?

The guy had been charged for the same offence on a number of occasions previously, he gets pulled over and shows no remorse and he then goes on to state he is happy to do it again and all but states his intention to do so.

I’m sure you guys won’t find it so amusing if it was your nearest and dearest laying under the wheels of an idiot like this.

Yes I agree it would be kind of amusing if this was in the context of a comedy show but in the context of real life your witty comments should be post scripted with pure distain for this ‘man’.

It is people like him that are destroying the fabric of decent society brick by brick. They do not deserve your respect in any shape or form.

If you don’t agree then you should have been here last year to witness the burial of a friend of mine, a young mother and her baby - both hit and killed by a drunk driver.

He mounted the pavement, hit her so hard her head was removed from her shoulders, she was dragged for 100 feet by the car as he tried to drive away and the remains of the baby had to be removed from inside the wheel-arch above the front wheel of the car.

When you see this carnage and hardened police officers crying and vomiting, drunk driving does not seem so funny in any way. The laws are there for a reason.

Sorry for being such a killjoy but seeing this affected me in a big way. But not as much as it affected her other child who has lost her mother and sister and a husband who has lost his wife and daughter.

While I understand such things can seem amusing there are real people behind the drink driving laws – the victims, they deserve your admiration and not this worthless piece of waste.

I think that it might be possible to try him for attempted murder... because he knows he is drunk when he is driving and that he is very likely to hit someone else. Like he did that night.
