Laptop bad graphics

Terrasis-Cian
Hi all, my sister recently bought a new laptop. It is a hp (its just as good as my pc). The graphics do not look very good on it compared to my. What im saying is that one picyure looks dull on the laptop and brighter on the pc. I have compared loads of pictures but my pc looks much better, the thing i dont get is that her laptop has a G-Force grapgics card(256 meg) and my pc only has a standard grapgics card that came with the pc. I have gone through all the settings and i have the colour at 32 bit (highest) and i have changed the resolution but nothing makes a difference. I really need to solve the problem fast because seh is goin home to london soon. I know that it may be the way the laptop is but there must be some way to boost the colour? is there a way to turn up the brightness? Contrast ? Anything ? please help, cheers!

Your Sis's Laptop is just fine.....but you can't compare it with a CRT which ur PC has. Normally laptops have LCD screens and as you haven't mentioned your model I am assuming the screen to be a normal LCD and hence it won't display all the natural crisp colors as a CRT does beause the range of colors which a CRT monitor can display cannot be compared to a 65K or 262K LCD display. Don't worry.....and carry out your good work. Smile

Since you an Nvidia graphics this is easy. The default setting on a laptop are not always optional. Try This:
Open properties and go to settings:
Click on the advanced button
You should now see a tab for Nvidia (whatever model you have)
Depending on the driver, you may now have lots of settings (including brightness and contrast) or you may only get a button to start the control panel. If you click the start contol panel you masy be limited with what options you have.
Most Laptops these days give the full set of options. By doing some testing you can really optimize you on screen display. If you mess up you can always go back to defaults.

If failing all of that I reccomend you download the latest Nvidia driver for yuor laptop, which can be found here: www.mvpgraphics.com. It's always a good idea to try and update yuor pc around once a month, and always make sure to backup your drivers with software such as driver guide, which can be found at http://www.driverguide.com
