According to it, Google is supposed to be indirectly funding terrorist groups. According to the author, there are supposed to be a lot of Hezbollah and Al Qaeda groups in Orkut.
Here is how they formed the connection -
| Quote: |
1. Groups set up blogs and sites with Google AdSense ads
2. Commit click fraud on those sites
3. Collect revenue from Google
4. Donate revenue to ‘charities’ which funnel to terror groups
|
If you ask me, Google wouldn't let such a thing happen, directly or indirectly

Well, after reading the first bit of it I have this to say:
How do you know no old people on the pension are funding terrorists? Just like whatever government who is paying the pension in question would stop that, so would Google for the ad sense account.
Wow... If you play 'follow the money' you'd be surprised how little you can do. If you try
to follow some sort of ideals your pace will be slow, and you'll keep tripping on similar
little stones everywhere.
If they really fund terorrists? Who know's, but they make a great search-engine.
lol google is SMART they are offer gr8 protection against spam and im sure they wouldn't allow this direcly or indirectly
It will be weird if they do it. I mean why would they do it, they earn enough already,..
I highly doubt that article has any truth in it. Pretty much everything seems to be contradicting itself. Sure terroristic groups might make some money (definately not much) with Google Adsense/click fraud, but very unlikely and not this way.
-The revenue of the ads on Orkut goes to Google itself, not the groups.
-The ad in the screenshot was a charity ad, meaning no revenue.
-Massive click fraud is easily caught and requires a lot of time and knowledge. Most terrorists are not savvy IT people able to do such things and there are way more easy ways to make money illegally like drugs.
-It's in Google's best interest to combat click fraud as much as possible because it means loss in revenue for them (and a lot). And they definately know it.
-Which terroristic group would call itself "Al Qaida" publicly on the internet? They aren't that stupid. It (=using the internet) would also make them very easy to be traced.
^ What Bondings said. It sounds just a little bit suss.
And anyway, clearly the terrorists are being funded by alien organisations which are kept secret by the Shadow Government by using mind control rays on us built using technology from Atlantis and run with the surviving Dinosaurs, overseen by Elvis. Right.
haha, if that is true, they google probably didnt realise, but i highly doubt that it is true.

true, but the people behind it, organising it, may very well be.
Well, anyone could fund the terrorists by committing click fraud. I could put Google AdSense on my website, click it, get the money and give it to terrorist organizations.
But Bondings pretty much summed up all that is wrong with this, and I feel no need to repeat, just agree.
I agree I'm pretty sure it's not true but then you just never know.
Why are you making such a big thing about it??
The terrorists are bound to get money from somewhere, if they do by chance happen to get it though google, then they get it through google.
I'm sure they have many ways of getting their money, which very few know about.
well this is lookin very intresting post , it is boring and childish post , terrorist terrorist it is enough man bush has alot of frightning no more ...
people think and think how they are getting money actually you have to know are they realy present and who fund them rather how they themselfs fund.
definatly this is not a way they earn money..
well, in every way, it just free busineszs, and its legal, if there is any terorist link to it, well then ... it's still legal, and google cant controll it. i ,might be a terroist, haveing google adsence on my site, i get payed, and shall also pay the state some money. because i earn it, but they wouden't care about who i am....
ps: im not a terroist
I bet if someone tried, you could "form a connection" between Google and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
(That's sarcasm, but I hope you get my tone and basic idea that nothing is too much of a stretch if you spin it the right way...)
Terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda are extremely well funded.
They wouldn't mess around with Adsense just so they could collect the loose change that Google throws their way.
lol. not wrong.
shocking, really.
Moved to the news section.

Actually Bond-man, there are a lot of hidden terrorists in the U.S. working for Al Queda who are in the IT industry or other industries which are tech-savvy and require diplomas. They are not dumb people... at least not the ones working in the U.S. What do you expect when most of them live in the sand without computers? The U.S. gave them a chance and they learned to use the computer... the internet... commit fraud to launder money... wow... the U.S. is the land of opportunity.
It could be true but if google really can confirm it and still dousnt do anyhing about it? no i dont think so, if the find out that it is happening and they can prove it they propably take action.
It is true but I'm not sure if evidence can be confirmed trough web search engine (Google). But no mather how funny that evidence is it's ok as long as they use it against terrorists.

I highly doubt there are many hidden 'terrorists' in the USA working for Al Qaida. And even if you are right, if they are indeed not dumb people they would be using easier ways to earn money instead of click fraud.
@ The Creator of This Thread
Any more bright ideas? Dude, I think you are new to the internet. Not everything you see on here is true. The internet even says that the President of the USA is a female who underwent a sex-change. That doesn't mean its true.
And the amount of cash the terrorists are getting per day from supportive governments itself is like a thousand times than what they can earn from doing such activities. Unless you want to say that this cash for buying their undergarments.
Oh come on, iNs@nE, I didn't actually say I believed it, did I? I just saw this article on the net, and wanted all of your opinion about it.
.. I dont remember saying You Believed It. I was just expressing my views. Wasnt that what you wanted?
I don't really think saratdear believed it.
But, on topic again!
In my opinion, google is playing a very smart game. They are playing a giant monopoly and they are winning.

You're right about that. They usually go for something like identity theft or work honestly to fund their "other families."
It looks funny to read the article.
WORLD is Watching... GOOGLE is not a road side company to Fund - Directly or Indirectly to any third party groups (Like Terrorist groups).
K-e-e-p S-m-i-l-i-n-g-
That is ridiculous. Google is a source of revenue, therefore, anyone can theoretically get money from it. You know what else can fund terrorist groups? If a terrorist supplier got a job at Sears.
Oh man Sears is funding terrorists.
Terrorists, terrorists everywhere. Help! There's a terrorist in my porridge, a terrorist under my bed. Welcome to McCarthyism for the new century.
