Yeah I suggest you make and sell a product. I'm currently making a script. Make an ebook or something.
there are many alternatives to adsense such as bidvertiser, adbrite, the yahoo overture program, the msn program, and others. you should experiment with each of them and see which is best for you
yes I am also trying to create a php script and even write a ebook and sell it for $97 but marketing is a big problem. also I am bit lazy as I have to study as well
