Hardly, that's just political correctness gone mad. I'm not christian yet celebrate christmas. All of my Muslim, Sikh and Jewish friends all celebrate christmas. Here in the UK its not a christian way, its a British way. One of my dear muslim friends is always completely excited over christmas. He's such a darling but really needs to get a life
So, in conclusion, I doubt anyone would be offended by a term with the word christmas in (or at least this is so in the UK).

Also, I would think saying "Merry X-mas" to a Christian would be more offensive then saying "Merry Christmas" to somebody of another religion. Some people believe that X-mas is "crossing out Christ", or something along the lines of that. Whoo!, I can't believe it, goin into the 07 heheh. This year was quick for me.
