if you arent familiar with the Satrean existentialist ideologies, ill post a few exerpts of the core idea.

but the question is whether you agree with Jean-Paul Satre, and if not, plz post your reasoning, but dont just put religion (be more elaborate plz).

also, plz post any freudean realations/differentials here as well.

--- some exerpts, info ---
"Existence precedes essence"
"Sartrean existentialism argues man exists without purpose, finds himself in the world and defines the meaning of his existence. "
"Sartre argues that no one else, including God, can choose your "identity" for you"

Sartre more than a philosopher is a poet, and this fact makes his philosophy a bit strange. His existentialism begins with the idea that all is meaningless. But that idea isn't unique to him. Does not Qoheleth say that "All is vanity"? Sartre however goes against Qoheleth when he claims that not even God makes anything and everything meaningful. In fact, the Nietzschean color of his existentialism comes out when he claims that man must get rid of God who makes him an object. This philosophy adopts the line that humanity and divinity are enemies ... a line of argument that is classic in that it continues the thought behind Homer's epics. In the end, I think that Sartrian existentialism has been rendered obsolete by the more positive approach of Heidegger.

I remember being asked to read "Nausea" and "The Flies" (a play), and really, Sartre makes one feel the meaninglessness of it all.

But of course, all existential philosophy is an experiment in reflection on the drama of human existence.
