I am from here.

Well, the situation is under control now, with transport services and communication lines restored.

It was the country's heaviest rainfall recorded in a century.
More than 450 ppl have died during the last 2 days, and the number is increasing.

Some ppl were stranded for almost 24 hrs in the traffic.

The Govt. had announced public holiday for 2 days.

Now, the downpour is not much, and the water levels have subsided.
The city is back to normal now.

Work will resume from tomorrow.

Well, it seems everything is still not completely fine. Sad

The death toll so far is over 850!!

The loss of property so far has been estimated at 4000 crore rupees.

Some parts of the city still are without power supply (due to large number of damaged transformers)
Many buses, trains, taxis, ricks have been damaged and are undergoing repair now.
Thousands of phone lines are still down.

Several housing societies are sending their members out to clean up the filth in the surroundings, that had accumulated during the floods.
After all, its no use waiting for the civic the authorities to come and do that...........How many places can they handle in a day?
