Ponting said he will be disappointed if he loses any of the remaining tests in Ashes series with England. Are they planning to take full revenge by beating England 5:0 whitewash? Who think it will happen?

You may vote it.

I really hope they won't. In my heart I think England have the passion and the skill (to an extent) to bring back at least one win. A whitewash would just be embarrassing.

Sadly there is also a fair chance with the pattern as it is and the way the Aussies have been playing that England will be beaten with a blank sheet for wins.

Come on England though!

Well The English men have really proven that they can loose the game even at the last moments of winning it. and As The Aussies seems to be in full swing now I think its not that far fetched that Australia can White wash this tournament 5:0

This is an easy one. YES!!!!

yeah i forsee a slaughter, england don't have it in them now to win after what has happened so far in the series.

There is no doubt that Australia will win this year's Ashes Series 5-0..

England look hopeless and helpless infront of australian attack.

The answer is simple

YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont think australia can beat them 5-0. id settle for 4-1. england maybe down, but not out. they can still win one match with some luck. but you never know. cricket is the game of uncertainities, and nothing can be predicted

It looks like the Aussies will have a clean sweep over England this Ashes.
England are already 7 down, and its still the 4th day.
Looks like its a befitting adieu to one of the greatest spinners in world cricket - Shane Warne.
And definitely its gonna be 5-0 this time.
The ASHES is going back to the OZ.....

Yep looks like it will be a white-wash to australia this time round. England just havn'e fought hard enough. But... what a great way for Warne and McGrath to leave the test arena a five nil win over their longest rivals. Who do think is the best player of this series so far???? For me it's either Ricky Ponting Of Mike Hussey; but it so hard with all the great players!!! Very Happy

I would say we will beat them 5-0 this time. It is not a matter of revenge or anything, but it's just of matter of being able to do something that hasn't been done in over 50 years. Secondly, with England's spineless display, it should go in the records as 5-0, nothing less. We are 4-0, with 1 to go.

Even though I am an austrlian supporter, I don't think Ponting or Hussey has done much to get the that much credit.
I would give my vote to Stuart Clark. He is someone who is quitely moving up the ranks. From England's side, KP once again, or maybe even Bell.

It's actually over 80 years since england lost an ashes series with a whitewash. It was 1921 I believe

Oh yeah, i forgot about clarky! I agree, he is growing very fast. They say he could be the new McGrath! Pieterson and Bell I think are The ONLY England players that have performed in this ashes. It is a shame, it seems that england are not trying;

Waiting from one Ashes to another, there has been a lot of expectation. It's almost over now, but Flintoff has been a disappointment with his batting. I still respect the man, but his batting hasn't clicked. If you believe in luck, then luck hasn't been on their side at all. There were a few bad decisions against Strauss, and one or two here and there. Overall, the batting seemed spineless.

All that is left to do is to watch the One Day series.

Yeh, I wasn't sure about the dates, but I knew it was quite a loong time back. Hopefully there will be more to see in the One Day series. Australia would love to be bowling in the last innings so Warne or Macgrath can actually take a wicket to end their Test careers. Oh boy! Wink

Well, I for one had my doubts that it would happen, but it did. The Ashes ended in a whitewash. Congrats Australia and goodbye to Damien Martyn, Justin Langer, Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne.
