Hello all,
I am starting this post in order to obtain a logo for my company. The prize for the best design is 300 FRIH$. The contest will end January 8th 2007.
The name of my company is Dodson Solutions. I know i started a post like this before but this one is a little different... I have more of an idea for what I am looking for.
I would like a graphic in the beginning and then have it say Dodson Solutions in a nice font. I would like the graphic to be a D and S together. Either have them next to each other or intertwined.
Please post as soon as you can... this way if i like it but want a part of it different, you still have a chance to win.
You can submit as many designs as you would like.

Thank you for your quick submission... I am looking for everything to be in one line however. and the DS be a little smaller then that.
also the font... it is up to you but I feel a script would go best.I am going to have a think about this and see what I can come up with.
Are there any other things you do or do not want (like script fonts and all in one line etc.) before we go ahead and work on this? It will save time and effort.
Any colours or ideas you do or do not like? Stuff like that.
Also a little info about the business may be helpful.

Yes, i am sorry i forgot to tell you what my company is...
Dodson Solutions is a Software Engineering company. We create custom software and custom websites. primarily software. pastel colors are nice... but pretty much any color would work.

I do not have any specific color scheme right now... I was actually going to base it off of the logo....I'm in for a try.. guess i can make a better one

You didn't ask for the "Designing the Future", but I felt it would look nice with that font. Are there any size limits to the logo?

My URL is to Dodson Corp... that is not what the logo is for... Don't go by the URL i have provided here at Frihost.This is my submission. I don't know if the size is right or no, but I think that's not the problem :p

Yes i would like it to be a little smaller.... there is now specific size... but around the size of the image in your sig.OK, I'll improve it tomorow, let's go to bed (I'm French :p)

Thank you very much for your efforts... one more thing i would like to add...
The graphic in the beginning... if it could be more separate... what I mean is... for example your Icon has a border around it and a background... maybe something like that around the DS... maybe some color behind it and possible a border of some sorts. Just another thought.

I really like the interlocking DS.... The colors are very interesting... I don't mean that in a bad way.... I am just curious as to what it would look like with different colors.... Also i would need it just alittle smaller...
Def one that will be considered.
One other comment about this design... I feel the name gets lost in the background.

Second version, smaller, and I've added some more effects on the background (which makes it less empty). But also on the DS logo, and on other things.
I think it corresponds better to your attempt

If i can have the background behind the Dodson Solutions be transparent that would help actually.

This size is PERFECT!Hmm. I just wandered in here. That last one has an element similar to what I was thinking before I scrolled down this far, but I have a different idea of how to use it. Do you want a crisp, compact logo that can also be used on business cards and stationery, or just a nice top banner image for your website?
Size does matter, with graphics. You can make the prettiest graphic in the whole world, but if you have to resize it, (up OR down, doesn't matter) it can go to crap and you have to do it over. I only know this because resizing logos and other graphic elements in advertising occasionally gave me hell when I worked at a little newspaper where we did everything on Macs and printed it out and did actual physical paste-up because the printing company we used still didn't have computers. In 1997! Eek!

I am actually looking for something that can be on business cards as well. Preferably the same logo... but smaller... and i understand what you mean about how it gets messed up when you re-size.
For the website head though the previous size is perfect like i said.
When i said i want grean I want a green to match this color:
it is not going on top of this... so if it the same color as this that is goodSorry for the wait. I had to wait 'till I was back at school. The PSP file is on this computer.

Not sure yet about the size... but could i see it in a green.... I guess for now try and just make the size a little smaller in the height.Here it is in green and smaller..

I like the color and I really like the idea of it being plugged into a wall .... the only problem is the size doesn't work with my theme on the site i am creating...
this logo is the perfect size....
if you can keep your same idea of it being plugged in... the arrow is pretty cool today.... but some how get it to fit in that size...
Also i need it to eventually fade to transparent... i like having the background behind the DS but i need transparency behind the Dodson Solutions.Okay here it is with and without the extra picture on the right:

Also the fade to transparent is perfect!
I know I am being a big pain but... Could I see this exact design but back in the blue as well.... I was speaking with an employee about the design and they said the blue might go well with the website as well... I just wanted to check it out. ThanksWell thats okay just as long as you dont want to see it in other colors

My final decision will be made sometime next week. I need to look them all over with a few people this coming weekend.
