Hello,
I am making my own online radio and I would like to record some things on skype of people saying stuff. Is there a program out there that can record what is coming into the sound card?
Cheers,
Jarred
U can use any audio recording software for this just check the stereo line in the audio options(volume properties) on ur pc. Also sound forge is a very good software for this. but its not free.
hope this helps.....
There is lot of Third party recording software to record sound from sound card. you can use that softwares
did you tried Skype's extras that can record the calls?
Thanks arnie for the link
I saw Skype extras ..n found PrettyMay (https://extras.skype.com/86/view) , but this one is not free ..though it has a free trial available.
you can also use Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ to record calls.

(1) SET UP AUDACITY
Get Audacity from audacity.sourceforge.net; Run Audacity; Go to File -> Preferences -> Digital I/O -> Recording and choose a “Digital Audio”-class device rather than an “Input”-class device (which will replace microphone input with combined microphone **and** speaker recording); choose to record two channels of stereo; finally, close Preferences, and choose “Wave Out Mix” as the source of signal on the main window of Audacity;
(2) SET UP THE SOUND DRIVER
Go to Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Volume -> Advanced and make sure the microphone is not muted; you may also want to click on “Advanced” settings for the microphone and check “MIC Boost” to amplify your voice.
(3) USE AUDACITY AND SKYPE
During a conversation, you can start recording in Audacity at any point (big red button ); Audacity allows to export recordings in WAV, MP3, and OGG formats; for MP3s, you will need to find lame_enc.dll on Google (LAME is an excellent MP3 encoder). |
I recommend Audacity too...it came free with my Soundblaster Audigy so if you have a similar card you may already have a copy on your PC or on the Soundcard's CD.
Well if you're using windows you can just use sound recorder.
1) open volume control from the taskbar
2) hit options| Properties| hit the recording circle | check all boxes
3) Then check the select box under wave out
After that when you hit record off of sound recorder it will record whats coming from the sound card.
And if thats to much of a hassle/doesn't work you can get a good recorder here:
