Font Search – can you help?

Hi

Does anyone know for certain the name of the font used for the cover of Time magazine? If you do please let me know.

I have searched this forum and beyond but so far no luck finding the answer.

Is there a place you can go to find a selection of magazine fonts and any fonts used on brands?

As ever, many thanks for any help you can provide.

There are tons of sites that have free fonts ready for download.

1001fonts is one of them. www.1001fonts.com
They even have a special section named "Brandname"
Maybe that site is new for you. :wink:

Captain Fertile, I've seen it mentioned online that the main title font TIME magazine uses changes from time to time, but most seem to agree that it's usually Times New Roman, which you should already have. if you're running Windows.

Here's a site called What The Font? that might be able to help you find out.

Also, The Font Bureau.com lists TIME magazine as one of their clients, so you may be able to look around & indentify it on their site, or try e-mailing them for an answer.

I've been down that frustrating road of trying to find an obscure font myself, so I know what a fruitless search it can become, and I also know how it feels to be forced to substitute a similar font to at least somewhat achieve the look you're after - you're never completely satisfied with your work.

Idea If you've got a few hours to kill one day/night, take a look through this site. They've got thousands of free fonts available to download, as well as lots of other free resources.

Thanks for that, you weren't joking when you meant 'a few hours to kill' Shocked

There are tons of fonts on there and you can be sure I will sit for quite a while going through each and every page checking out what goodies are there.

Also the other free resources look promising too, now this is what the interenet is for - free information and the feeling of being like a kid in a candy store when you see a site like this.

Yeah..mostly it is Times New Roman

www.1001fonts.com is a good resourse too if you are hunting for fonts.
