Warcraft III play without disk

Sparda
Hi, I didn't know whether to choose software forum or this forum so I did Eni Minie Mineie Moe.

I want to know how I can get Warcraft III (Computer game) to run without having the disk in the drive. I had this done with other programs, but I didn't make it work.(someone else did it.) So, if anyone would any information about working this game without a disk feel free to reply.

~Thx

There is a thing called game jackal which you can rip the game as an image and mount to what's called a virtual drive. The computer then picks the image up as a disc on the virtual drive and plays normally. There are also things called patches which you can get from anywhere just search google. They are called NoCD patches. Hope this has helped.

Yeah, as said above, there are many programs available for CD-Ripping. But in my opinion, the most logical choice would be a No-CD patch/crack. Despite what people think, it's not illegal to crack software on your own computer that was installed by a CD that YOU paid for. Law simply dictates that you can not distribute or make copies of the copyrighted software.

So simply enough, here's a website; it is in fact, the most useful of all!
Mod edit - link removed

Just type Warcraft 3 in the search box after choosing a mirror.

Good luck...

If the above doesn't work you always create a CD image from the CD. You can do this using nero, roxio or whatever burning software you use.
You then need to uninstall the game.
Then use a cd emulator to boot the image from your PC. You then can always install and play the game from the image and never need the real cd.

CD emulators are fine. Hacking / cracking the software is not.

Ok, I don't know what to do. I have nero, but I don't know how to work to do whatever I need to do. And the virtual server sheep thing. It creates drives on my computer that I do not even have. Example: (JSmile drive. Doesn't exist. Can't put a cd into the J drive. What do I do?

As animal said, not allowed to discuss "cracking". It's illegal in most countries. So don't go to prison and save the terrorists!!!! ummmm..... YEAH
Sparda
Why would I go to prision? All I want to do is play the game without the disk because the disk is really messed up. It's hard to run the game because it says CD not in drive, but it is in there. So I thought it must be cratches. So I wanted this No-cd thing.

you find software alcohol 120%..after install, you run that software, then find image making wizard at the left, then you make a image file for your cd,you can make any format for your disk image like ccd or other,it all working...

after finish, you run that alcohol again,at lowest, you will see devices like cdrom, dvdrom, virtual drive..

you right click the virtual drive and click mount image...
then you find the image that you made..
and you can play your game without cd..

it really easy and working clearly..

Since you said that the cd can't be read, then creating a disk image out of it is impossible now. You better search for a No cd patch as stated by the posts above.

No-CD cracks can work uncorrectly and sometimes when you update your game (I don't know is there updates for Warcraft III) updater can crash or game can work uncoorectly after that or you need to crack the game again at least. Anyway, some countries playing the game without disk is illegal and no-CD cracks can cointain keyloggers and can damage your game.

I think Alcohol 120% would be your best bet. It isn't illegal. Just get the software. Make an image of your CD. Then when you need to load the image that Alcohol had made for you. Go File>Open>...
Now just double click this file and it will show that you've loaded the Cd onto your virtual drive. Now you can play the game normally.

It's always nice when companies realize that doing the right thing and make life easy for their customers rather than making things hard on people in a futile attempt to protect software that's going to be cracked anyway.

i also want to know ...

The disk is no longer required for game play just in case anyone is still wondering. Recent patches have removed the need for it :>. Always much appreciated by true fans of the game. You need a valid serial number to get online to battle.net anyway.

I'm sure this has been resolved, but I'll add my two-sense anyways.
What you wanna do is make an ISO of the game disk. Most burning software will do. One of the most popular wares is Nero. I prefer one called InfraRecorder.
Once you have an ISO made, you need to mount the disk image with another program called DameonTools. This will allow you to run ISO w/o a disk, in your case WarIII. But this can be done for any game that needs a disc. Wink

However, running off a disk is easier in my opinion, because you don't have to worry about anything not working correctly. You just put in the disk and it runs. Razz

Blizzard released a patch for it.. you don't need any of that stuff. Just download the patch, take your disk out, and launch wc3. Done.
