Making good graphics like

Sparda
Hi, I want to learn how to make good graphics and pictures. I will show an example of what I know how to make and an example of what I want to make. What I want to make is the graphics like the professionals make. Such as in video games or well-known websites.

Here is where my pic is: Link Removed - Image no longer available

Anyone know if there is a program or something that helps with this? And how would I make stuff like this?

~Thx

I remember that snowman, but for the life of me, I can't remember from where!?

tell me now!

also, www.good-tutorials.com and www.pixel2life.com are good resources for learning to do the things you want.

The snowman comes from the video game for the Super Nintendo. The name of the game is Clayfighters. Also thanks for the tutorial sites, but I still need some sort of free program for making the graphics unless Paint is good enough?

http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/ <-- The GIMP
It is free, and light-years ahead of MS paint. The interface is a little hard to get used to, but once you do grow accustomed to it, you'll never want to use paint again.

Or, if you love paint already, why not just upgrade it? you get Paint.net as an upgrade for paint. Makes it miles more powerful. Still not the same as photoshop or GIMP, but still cool. It's free, and so is GIMP, so it's really up to you. GIMP is really similiar to photoshop and the likeness, only free.
