Could I still keep the .frih.net domain as a url redirect? Just because I don't want to lose any users. I can still remain active on the frihost forums if need be.

For you to keep the .frih.net domain you have to be active on the frihost forums. If you are not then your hosting account will be removed. So yes, you can use the .frih.net domain as a url direct, but you have to remain active.
would it be wrong if i set up a redirect with my .frih.net subdomain to another site and have it in the directory. Can i do that?
The directory is only for sites hosted on Frihost, so no sorry.
