1. Carlos Boozer, Utah

I would have been laughed out of the office before the season began for moving Boozer into the top spot but after five weeks, it is obvious his game is no joke.

2. Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
24.2 9.7 2.9 0.6 0.9 .491 .921

Last Week's Rank - 3 | All-Star Game: Fill out a ballot daily
Nowitzki had to leave Wednesday's game with blurred vision but one thing remains crystal clear: He was the driving force behind Dallas' 12-game winning streak.

3. Dwight Howard, Orlando
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
17.2 13.5 1.6 0.5 2.0 .600 .654

Last Week's Rank - 6 | All-Star Game: Fill out a ballot daily
Howard has posted nine straight double-doubles. He was recently named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for November and has led Orlando to a conference-best 14-5 record.

4. Tim Duncan, San Antonio
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
21.9 11 3.6 0.6 1.8 .548 .631

Last Week's Rank - 4 | All-Star Game: Fill out a ballot daily
The Big Fundamental became just the third Spur to top the 15,000-point plateau last week. San Antonio is cruising along with a 13-5 record.

5. Carmelo Anthony, Denver
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
32.2 5.2 4.3 1.9 0.3 .524 .831

Last Week's Rank - 8 | All-Star Game: Fill out a ballot daily
The Nuggets are 8-2 over their last 10 thanks to the offensive exploits of the reigning Western Conference Player of the Week.

6. Yao Ming, Houston
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
25.6 9.8 1.9 0.5 1.8 .528 .849

Last Week's Rank - 5 | All-Star Game: Fill out a ballot daily
Yao has scored at least 20 in all but two games for the 11-5 Rockets. Each week the gap between Yao and the rest of the centers widens.

7. LeBron James, Cleveland
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
27.4 6.7 6.7 1.6 0.9 .464 .705

Last Week's Rank - 1 | All-Star Game: Fill out a ballot daily
The Cavaliers are only playing .500 ball over the past 10 games, allowing them to be leapfrogged by the red-hot Pistons. Sure LBJ's overall numbers are still great, but he needed to do more to hold on to the top spot in the player rankings.

8. Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
26.1 4.6 4.7 1.3 0.3 .487 .838

Last Week's Rank - 10 | All-Star Game: Fill out a ballot daily
Just when KB24 looked like he was returning to all-world form, he left Monday's game with a moderate sprain of the right ankle. Hopefully he won't miss much time.

9. Steve Nash, Phoenix
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
20.5 2.6 10.8 0.7 0.1 .511 .902

Last Week's Rank - 11 | All-Star Game: Fill out a ballot daily
The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player is doing his thing (making everyone better) and so are the Suns - winners of six straight.

10. Dwyane Wade, Miami
PPG RPG APG SPG BPG FG% FT%
27.3 4.8 8.0 1.3 1.0 .451 .807

Last Week's Rank - 7 | All-Star Game: Fill out a ballot
With the one-man Race to the MVP committee in the house Thursday, Wade had an off night against the Pistons, going 5-for-23 from the floor, including missing the game-winner with two seconds left.
This is huge surprise to me because who would have though that carl boozer would be in the running for MVP. Of course it is still early in the season and hard to stay thtat good but it is quite an accomplishemtn.

I think it's have to be Carlos Boozer.

Because he's been terrifying in the paint and the Jazz goes smoothly in the league.
Arseniy
GO STEVE NASH!!!
I really love that player. Last season he had similar haircut with me:)
And he was MVP last season. And pre-last season. Let him win it three times in a row!
mariners100
Nash all the way.... He is the glue that holds the Suns together. Obviously, last year loosing Amare wasnt a problem... If the Suns were to lose Nash they would be done...

Boozer is second in my opinion, but you have to go with Nash
fizzo
If Utah continues their hot streak. Im going with Carlos Boozer all the way, but If Utah does not maintain being the 1st -5th Top team on the West Im calling my vote to Lebron James because on how he carries the Cleveland Cavaliers and his stats might come up on the later part of the season.
sajanzv
Nash for MVP. The Nets-Suns double OT match should prove the impact the lil PG has on the Suns game.

With him, they are terrifying, without him, they are like a wheel caught in a rut
fizzo
Nash is good also.. now that Amare is back and looking good with his stats.. Nash could go up on MVP Race and as well as one of the best teams in the nba.. I hope they can go thru the finals.
sajanzv
Perhaps the one player who never shows up on the radar but come MVP time is always there, Tim Duncan.

I havent followed him recently, but looks like he is playing better than last year when he was bothered with that foot injury
fizzo
Yes! good point with that Tim Duncan plays silent but effective he does a lot on a team. Everyone on a Fantasy League wants to have this guy an all around player. From a Leader to the go to guy Timmy is the man.
Dean23
Dwayne Wade, Or Steve Nash Fo' Shure! Razz
skynet
For me, it still Koby Bryent !

He is suck a good player with good hand (even he is an aggoist) - I just like him Smile
fizzo
Gilbert Arenas Dropped down 60 Points on a game against the Lakers. They Won 140++ Something High Scoring Game!
sajanzv
Didnt get a chance to see that game, we have only a few games telecast to India on ESPN-Star Sports.

Arenas had been shaky all season...
fizzo
his shaky on some games but as long as the BIG three Im talking about Gilbert Antawn Jamison and Caron butler is scoring and doing good job on both ends they are a very Good team.. They are one of the top teams on Scoring...

I love to see that Carlos Boozer is being mentioned as an MVP candidate. He grew up right here in Juneau, Alaska. I remember playing against him when he was in high school. He used to remind me of a Scottie Pippen type in high school as he was an athletic slasher type with a decent outside shot. He bulked up in college and has turned into a punishing inside player. But I'd say Nash, Duncan, Lebron, or even Carmelo could stake legitimate claims.
fizzo
Ohh you use to play with Boozer back then?
evilryu530
dunno who the mvp will be this year, maybe gilbert arenas if he keeps it up. he's damn good, what happen to him this year? crazy, madness scoring hella. carmelo is otu of the questions.
fizzo
Yeah! his a good scorer I use him on my Fantasy League and Im getting the best out of it.. Gilbert Arenas the best
Alaskacameradude
Ya I played with Boozer a little....just in pick up games. I am about 6 years older than him but when I used to go down to the gym to play pick up basketball I played with and against him a few times. He was of course the star player on the high school team back then and was a good player in high school, a different type of player than he is now like I said but I think it's cool to see someone from here be mentioned in the mvp race. He's having a good year which is good to see. He usually comes back here in the summers and goes and catches a big king salmon Smile
rfarrand
i am putting in my vote for carmelo! and now that iverson is in the picture, it could be the entire denver nuggets team! can you say...give the award to a team! ...lol. its too bad i am not from denver...i would love to go to some of those games...but still rooting for my beloved pistons! can you say another championship? ok so maybe not this year, but we will still go far!
sajanzv
Nash all the way !! He is leading the league in assists, got one of the best 3pt shooting percentages, and is overall a great player.

Last week, I managed to see the Suns vs Mavs game, and though I support the Mavericks, it was indeed a great pleasure to see Nash in action, the guy has eyes in the back of his head I tell you Laughing
Xcelerate
go dirk. he is the man at bball.
agustin
I like Nash! so I think he is going to be the mvp! thats it!
