My friend and I are based in the UK and we would love to be able to play online games against each other when we are on our own PCs.
Whether it be a board game like Scrabble or Monopoly or some kind of exciting first person shooter or role-playing game we know there may not be any choice.
The point is we have no idea what software we need and whether it is possible to play such games online for free or for a very small cost.
It would be best if we can play just against each other but failing this playing against the world and being able to keep a track on each other would be good I guess.
Also, we don’t have super games machines so it would have to be an older or lower spec game that we play.
Are there games like this online or would be have to purchase the CDs (one each) to be able to play – if such games exist?
I’m really sorry to be so green about this but we really need to know the fundamentals so don’t worry about offending me, you cannot aim any descriptions or suggestions at too low a level, chances are I will have to ask you to elaborate anyway – yes we are that dumb about such things.
Many thanks to anyone willing to try and help with suggestions and information.
I'm not just asking for online games available but how we actually go about setting them up to be able to play just between ourselves - hence this new thread.
