Die young and save yourself.
I like "Best Deception" of Dashboard Confessionals, "Blue and Yellow" by the Used and "Cheek to Cheek" by the Starting Line.
Remember When by Alan Jackson.
Especial when you hear the song from Jackson, it's so much like an older tell you about his heart.
Everyone should listen to it! Trust me!

Players Club - Eazy e, too short
My favorite Lyrics are to Alan Jacksons song Red on a Rose because its just really sweet and it tells a really good story!!
I love the lyrics of Emily by From First To Last.
Oh puny human you are no match for me!
Best Lyric HAS to be:
"If you couldn't live without me, why aren't you dead?"

"If you couldn't live without me, why aren't you dead?"
I've always liked a verse from Beck's "Painted Eyelids" -
"So cancel my appointments
And set up a whole new show
'Cause I'm in need of a good hot meal
And a life to call my own..."
"So cancel my appointments
And set up a whole new show
'Cause I'm in need of a good hot meal
And a life to call my own..."
I have many lyrics that I like alot but one very good I found not long ago is "Tired" by the band "Dream Evil". It is just like that I feel sometimes when I am in a bad mood.
| Quote: |
| I wish you could see this
cause there's nothing to see It's peaceful here and thats fine with me Not like the world where I used to live I never really wanted to live |
From the song Coma by Guns N' Roses
| Quote: |
| Joe is off to die for another senseless war
no arms no legs, his mother cries at home joe wears a flag and proud to fight for us and for the government that doesnt give a ****** |
Unknown Soldier -- The Casualties
(also known as "Marching Joe")
The best lyrics ever, have to be from Eminem's song: 313. They are so thought out that it's unbelievable. He uses punchlines on almost every line... I'll post some of the best punchlines from the song:
Those are some of the sickest punchlines I've ever heard. Well, they're at least funny if you get them.
| Quote: |
| I'm sure your bound to agree, a sweet MC crashes the spot
I'll make the roof hot like I was Rock Master Scott Your a** forgot, so just in case you don't remember me I'll run your brain around the block to "jog" your f***ing memory If he's acting soft and he cowers He better "cum" cleaner than Jay Rue jacking off when he showers You flowers got no clout with a thing You could date a stick of dynamite and wouldn't "go out" with a bang I'm greeted with flocks, of fellow follower's singers You couldn't make the fans "throw up" their hands if they swallowed their fingers Cause you can be quick, jump the candlestick, burn your back And f*** Jill on a hill, but you still ain't "Jack" |

A Place For My Head - Linkin Park.
I guess I, like thousands others can relate to this song.

Basically all Iced Earth, Wintersun and Ensiferum lyrics are fantastic.

| "Dumb" by: Nirvana
I'm not like them But I can pretend The sun is gone But I have a light The day is done But I'm having fun I think I'm dumb Or maybe just happy Think I'm just happy My heart is broke But I have some glue Help me inhale I'll mend it with you We'll float around Hang out on clouds Then we'll come down And have a hang-over Skin the sun, fall asleep Wish away, my soul is cheap Lesson learned, wish me luck Soothe the burn, wake me up I think I'm dumb |
My favourite lyrics are from Tool's 'Rosetta Stoned'
And it actually goes on like that for another 50 lines I gues...
I know the lyrics are weird, but thrust me, they make much more sense when your drunk or high

| All righty then. Picture this if you will.
10 to 2am X, yogi, DMT and a box of Krispy Kremes, in my need-to-know pose just outside area 51 Contemplating the whole chosen people thingy when just then a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this Cutting right angle doughnuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks and me yelping... HOLY F*CKING SH*T Holy f*cking sh*t F*cking sh*t Holy f*cking sh*t Holy f*cking sh*t Holy f*cking sh*t...f*cking sh*t...f*cking sh*t Then the X-Files being, looking like some kinda blue-green Jackie Chan With Isabella Rossellini lips and breath that reeked of vanilla chig champa Did a slow-mo matrix decent outta the butt end of the banana vessel and hovered above my bug-eyes My gaping jaw And my sweaty L. Ron Hubbard upper lip, And all I could think was, I hope Uncle Martin here doesn't notice That I pissed my ****** pants. So light in his way Like an apparition, He had me crying out, ****** me! It's gotta be Dead head chemistry! The blotter got right on top of me Got me seeing E ****** T! And after calming me down with some orange slices and some fetal spooning E.T. revealed to me his singular purpose, He said you are the chosen one. The one who will deliver the message. A message of hope for those who choose to hear it And a warning for those who do not. Me, the chosen one They chose me And I didn't graduate from ****** high school! |

"The Shape I Found You In" by Girlyman
| Quote: |
| You were spoken for
I spent twenty lifetimes at your door But your heart was busy within Building bomb shelters under your skin That's the shape I found you in That's the shape I found you in I was calling to you It was one thing I knew how to do But my heart tried to cheat Building safety nets under my feet So if I fell I would fall right in That's the shape you found me in You were delivered to me We were closed as the stores on Christmas Eve So I felt around in the dark Building rope ladders into your heart Climbing hand over hand to get in That's the shape I found you in That's the shape I found you in |
I dont really have one set of favorite lyrics... but this song ranks among the top of my favorites.. just because it reminds me of people I know....hahah

| I said run.
And you won't be able to see me because you'll be bleeding from the eyes. The thought of your genitals makes me sick and I bet you could fit five cocks up that ass. Why don't you just strap a mattress to your back? These are the last days of the rest of your life. Next time I want a better excuse - dropped like a bad habit. I wash my hands of you all. My slate is clean. And I'll be smiling all the way to the bank. Face down, ass up; I want to destroy something beautiful. By the end I want everyone dead. By the end I'm going to be the only one standing. Not even your children are safe. |

Wow, really hard question to answer.
Usually I'd say I don't really know, but lately I've been listening to Brightwood a lot.
I like the song "Sit Still" even though it's kind of short. The lyrics are:
You can't sit still. I watched your movement from the corner catch my eye. Imagining you here right by my side. The fire in your eyes is blazing, and it burns right through me. Little girl your so amazing. Don't you know you drive me crazy, and I'd love to get to know you. Here I am so won't you take me and blow me away. You seem so close. If I could know your thoughts, if I
could read your mind. Some things are never meant to be defined. It's now or never. Here I am. There you are. Wish upon a falling star.

By Dwight B. Latham and Moe Jaffe Many many years ago when I was twenty three, I got married to a widow who was pretty as could be. This widow had a grown-up daughter Who had hair of red. My father fell in love with her, And soon the two were wed. This made my dad my son-in-law And changed my very life. My daughter was my mother, For she was my father's wife. -------------------- |
Are we allowed to post a whole song's lyrics here? Copywrite issues, maybe?
Anyway, you can look up the rest of the song on http://www.seeklyrics.com/ or many other sites like it but this one gave me the biggest laugh recently.

Album: Kingdom Come Title: Lost One Uh, uh, uh, uh It's not a diss song, it's just a real song Feel me? I heard ****** saying they made Hov Made Hov say, "Ok so, make another Hov" Niggaz wasn't playing they day role So we parted ways like Ben and J-Lo I shoulda been did it but I been in a daze though I put friends over business end of the day though But when friends, business interests as they go Ain't nothing left to say though I guess we forgot what we came fo' Shoulda stayed in food and beverage Too much flossing Too much Sam Rothstein I ain't a bitch but I gotta divorce them Hov have to get the shallow shit up off him And I ain't even want to be famous Niggaz is brainless to unnecessarily go through these changes And I ain't even know how it came to this Except that fame is The worst drug known to man It's stronger than, heroin When you could look in the mirror like, "There I am" And still not see, what you've become I know I'm guilty of it too but, not like them You lost one [Chorus w/ Marsha (Jay-Z)] Lose one, let go to get one Left one, lose some to win some (You lost one) Sorry I'm a champion, sorry I'm a champion You lost one I don't think it's meant to be, be But she loves her work more than she does me And honestly, at twenty-three I would probably love my work more than I did she So B, ain't we It's me, and her 'Cause what she prefers over me, is work And that's, where we, differ So I have to give her Free, time, even if it hurts So breathe, mami, it's deserved You've been put on this earth to be All you can be, like the reserves And me? My time in the army, it's served So I have to allow she, her, time to serve The time's now for her In time she'll mature And maybe we, can be, we, again like we were Finally, my time's too short to share And to ask her now, it ain't fair So yeah, she lost one Lose one, let go to get one Left one, lose some to win some (Oh yeah, she lost one) Sorry I'm a champion, sorry I'm a champion You lost one I never died in the car I bought So I'm under the belief it's partly my fault Close my eyes and squeeze, try to block that thought Place any burden on me, but please, not that lord Time don't go back, it go forward Can't run from the pain, go towards it Some things can't be explained, what caused it? Such a beautiful soul, so pure, shit Gonna see you again, I'm sure of it Til that time, little man I'm nauseous Your girlfriend's pregnant, the lord's gift Almost lost my faith, that restored it It's like having your life restarted Can't wait for your child's life, to be a part of it So now I'm child-like, waiting for a gift To return, when I lost you, I lost it Lose one, let go to get one Left one, lose some to win some (Colleek, I lost one) Sorry I'm a champion, Colleek, you're a champion You lost one So I have to give her Free, time, even if it hurts So breathe, mami, it's deserved You've been put on this earth to be All you can be, like the reserves And me? My favorite Lyrics are from Nine Inch Nails - Right Where It Belongs
| Quote: |
|
See the animal in his cage that you built, Are you sure what side you're on? Better not look him too closely in the eye, Are you sure what side of the glass you are on? See the safety of the life you have built, Everything where it belongs Feel the hollowness inside of your heart, And it's all...right where it belongs What if everything around you, Isn't quite as it seems? What if all the world you think you know, Is an elaborate dream? And if you look at your reflection, Is it all you want it to be? What if you could look right through the cracks, Would you find yourself...find yourself afraid to see? What if all the world's inside of your head? Just creations of your own Your devils and your gods all the living and the dead And you're really all alone You can live in this illusion, You can choose to believe. You keep looking but you can't find the woods, While you're hiding in the trees What if everything around you, Isn't quite as it seems? What if all the world you used to know, Is an elaborate dream? And if you look at your reflection, Is it all you want it to be? What if you could look right through the cracks, Would you find yourself...find yourself afraid to see? |
Well, thanks to Granada's Jeeves and Wooster TV series, I'm developing an appreciation for 1920s-to-40s swing/jazz/ragtime/comic music. Really, how can you not love the bounce and rhythm of lyrics like these:

| Indigo Girls- "I Believe In Love"
When we tried to rework all of this Each to her rendition Painted ourselves in a corner Lost for ideas blindly fishing For a compliment or kindness Just to bring us into view But you could not interpret me and I could not interpret you I remember that cold morning when the trees were black with birds I tried to make out some connection We were at a loss for words After all that we've been through I could not see giving up Despite the picture of our coffee growing colder in the cups I want to say that underneath it all you are my friend And the way that I fell for you I'll never fall that way again I still believe despite our differences that what we have's enough And I believe in you and I believe in love So we went rolling on down through the years Taking time off we could steal Until the thief of things unreconciled Stuck it's stick into the wheel Now we're tumbling in a freefall No one's gonna go unscathed But it's not because you held back and its not how I behaved I want to say that underneath it all you are my friend And the way that I fell for you I'll never fall that way again I still believe despite our differences that what we have's enough I believe in you and I believe in love There are avenues and supplements and books stacked on the shelf Labyrinths of recovery in search of our best self But most of what will happen now is way out of our hands So just let it go and see where it lands I want to say that underneath it all you are my friend And the way that I fell for you I'll never fall that way again I still believe despite our differences that what we have's enough I believe in you and I believe in love I believe in you and I believe in love |
This is for a special someone on her birthday:

The Flaming Lips - Vein of Stars is one of my favourites.
And it really fits the music. Great song.
| Quote: |
Who knows? Maybe there isn't a vein of stars calling out my name No glow, from above our head Nothing's there to see you down on your knees Twenty-five, twenty-six, twenty-seven (twenty years in the future) Off in the future maybe there ain't no heaven It's just you and me and maybe it's just as well If there ain't no heaven Maybe there ain't no hell Who knows? Maybe there isn't a vein of stars calling out my name Who knows? |
And it really fits the music. Great song.
Almost all Bathory lyrics are great!
| Pink Floyd - Hey You wrote: |
|
Hey you, standing in the road Always doing what you're told, Can you help me? Hey you, out there beyond the wall, Breaking bottles in the hall, Can you help me? Hey you, don't tell me theres no hope at all Together we stand, divided we fall. |
It might not sound so good if you read it out loud, but in the context of the album, and the rest of the song, the lyrics to Hey You by Pink Floyd is awesome. I couldn't pick a favorite, but this is as close as it gets, I'm afraid.

There are a few songs where I like specific parts of them, but to be honest, it's the translation I like, because I usually don't speak or understand the language of songs that I like (most of them being Italian, Russian or Japanese).
Here are a few that I find particularly meaningful, or I just like the melody of a lot:
I'll start with the chorus for my favourite song, "Perfect Garden" by Schwarz Stein. I've found two slightly differently worded translations, and they're both beautiful, so I'll quote them both. I find this song to be particularly meaningful because it pretty much describes my outlook on life... I'm living as I am, waiting for my chance to escape to a perfect paradise of decadence and beauty...
and
While I like the wording of the first translation better, the second one fits exactly with the melody of the song, so I'm becoming rather fond of it.
Just a couple of weeks ago, I bought Kaya's cd [Glitter], and one of the songs on there also means a lot to me. The song is called "Walküre". My favourite part of it goes like this (translation, of course):
I'll close with the chorus of "New vogue children" by Schwarz Stein. I love the way it sounds, even if it is a little demented and creepy.
I'm also really fond of almost all of the lyrics to Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera, but I'm not going to quote all of that.

The White Stripes - Little Ghost
Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above
The first woman that I met her
I did not expect a specter
When I shook her hand I really shook a glove
She looked into me so sweetly
And we left the room discreetly
No one else could know the secret of our love
Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above
Every morning I awoke
And I see my little ghost
Wond'rin' if it's really her that's lying there
I lean to touch her and I whisper
But not brave enough to kiss her
When I held her I was really holding air
Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above
Though I try my best to keep it
There really was no secret
Must have looked like I was dancing with the wall
No one else could see this apparition
But because of my condition
I fell in love with a little ghost and that was all
Little ghost, little ghost
One I'm scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
I'm the only one that sees you,
And I can't do much to please you
And it's not yet time to meet the lord above
No, it's not yet time to meet the lord above

"don't matter" by akon
For pure kickassestness:
"I am the Lizard King, I can do anything." - Not to Touch the Earth, Jim Morrison
"If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.
Bye, bye, its been a sweet love.
Though this feeling I can't change.
But please don't take it badly,
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame.
But, if I stayed here with you girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you'll never change.
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.
Lord help me, I can't change. " Lynyrd Skynyrd, Freebird
To rattle off a couple of otheres, I would say Behind Blue Eyes by the Who, Laugh I nearly Died by the Rolling Stones, Knocking on Heaven's door by Bob Dylan, and Don't know myself by the Who.

I like the lyrics from The Watcher by Dr. Dre.
| Quote: |
| Dr. Dre]
Things just ain't the same for gangstas. Times is changing, young niggas is aging, Becoming old gees in the game and changing, To make way for these new names and faces, but The strangest things can happen from rappin, when Niggas get wrapped up in image and actin, Niggas get capped up and wrapped in plastic, Zipped up in bags when it happens, that's it. I've seen em come; I've watched em go, Watched em rise, witnessed it and watched em blow. Watched em up high, suddenly watched em grow. Watched the lawsuits when they lost the dough. Best friends and money: I lost them both. Went, visited niggas in the hospital. It's all the same shit all across the globe. I just sit back and watch the show. (The watcher) Chorus: Everywhere that I go Ain't the same as befo' (The watcher) People I used to know I got people I know (The watcher) Who got people they know So I suggest you lay low (I watch) [Dr. Dre] I moved out of the hood for good, you blame me? Niggas ain't made me if niggas they can't be. But niggas can't hit niggas they can't see. I'm out of sight, now I'm out of they dang reach. How would you feel if niggas wanted you killed? You'd probably move to a new house on a new hill. And choose a new spot if niggas wanted you shot, I ain't a thug, how much Tupac in you, you got I ain't no bitch neither. It's either my life or your life, And I ain't leaving, I like breathing. Nigga we can go round for round, Clip for clip, shit, fo'-pound for pound. Nigga if you really want to take it there we can, Just remember that you ****** with a family man. I got a lot more to lose than you, remember that, When you wanna come and fill these shoes. (The watcher) Chorus [Dr. Dre] Things just ain't the same for gangstas, Cops is anxious to put niggas in handcuffs. They wanna hang us, see us dead, enslave us, Keep us trapped in the same place we're raised in. Then they wonder why we act so outrageous, Run around stressed out and pull out gauges. Cause everytime you let the animal out cages, It's dangerous to people who look like strangers. But now we got a new era of gangstas, Hustlers and youngsters livin amongst us. Lookin at us, now callin us busters, Can't help but reminisce back when it was us. Nigga we started this gangsta shit. And this the ****** thanks I get? It's funny how time fly, I'm just havin fun, just watchin it fly by. (The watcher) Chorus (The watcher) |
There is soo much good lyrics but right now what stands out in my head is Circle by Marques Houston mainly because it relates alot to my life right now.
More Brightwood!!!
This song is called My Reply:
This is my reply, my pleading cry.
A tattered page in the waves of eternity,
But it's all I have.
Just hear me out one last time.
I promise not to let you down.
So take my words for what you will,
And try to understand.
Live and learn, love and learn.
I know you still feel it burning,
When I see the hurt in your eyes.
I'd take it back if I could.
So young misunderstood.
Here is my reply.
This will be the last time I'm falling in love.
It feels like the first time all over again.
I'm taking my time this time to get it right.
I needed you to know that this will be the last time.
Live. Learn. Feel it burn.

| Rows of houses all bearing down on me
I can feel their blue hands touching me All these things into position All these things we'll one day swallow whole And fade out again and fade out This machine will not communicate These thoughts and the strain I am under Be a world child, form a circle Before we all go under And fade out again and fade out again Cracked eggs, dead birds Scream as they fight for life I can feel death, can see it's beady eyes All these things into position All these things we'll one day swallow whole And fade out again and fade out again Immerse your soul in love Immerse your soul in love. |
