I see a lot of topics on soccer, but in your opinion, what is the best soccer player ? for me, pele (brazil) is the best ! and you ?  GameFreak

Honestly haven't seen much of pele, But my favourites are Maradona and Zidane. (And also Ronaldo during 1996-97, damn Ronaldo at that time was better than Pele, many say)

Well, as I said in the other treads which opened before - For me, the best soccer player today it's Ronaldinho.
I know he had bad time in this year (when she opened) but he came back to his shape and started to show us what kind of soccer player is he. bugra9

For me its either THierry Henry or Cristiano Ronaldo. But there are a couple of young players that could be gods in the near future such as CSKA Moscow's Goalkeeper - Igor Akinfeev, who for his age (19) is simply brilliant. Also Micah Richards, who is the next John Terry, is also a great Central Defender, Chelsea are already trying to snap him up from Manchester City.

At the minute Cristiano Ronaldo is the best in England.
All time I would say Pele, he was magic with the ball at his feet. Some young players, such as Lionel Messi and Fernando Torres are really good at the minute, and they are yet to reach their peak. They will be phenomanal (sp) in years to come. neoon

Currently I would say the top five players in the world are:
Christiano Ronaldo (Portugal/Man Utd) Thierry Henry (France/Arsenal) Steven Gerrard (England/Liverpool) Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast/Chelsea) Kaka (Brazil/AC Milan) Ronaldinho doesn't do enough for the team as a whole to warrant a place in my opinion. If he's not spoon fed the ball all the time, he does nothing for the team. All time has to be between Pele, Maradona, Di Stefano, Cruyff, Zidane, there are so many. W.T.F.
The title goes to Cristiano Ronaldo. Hes on the best team in the best league, and at the moment nobody can stop him. Drogba could contend for a close second along with Lampard.

I dont think there is a best soccer player out there. I think all the world renown players are good at their own thing, but my favorite to watch is ronaldinho.

You guys obviously never saw Matt Le Tissier play. I'm not a Southampton fan but he was nothing short of a genius, AND he's a nice guy too. He could have moved to any of the big British clubs but he chose to spend all his career on the South Coast, nearest to his home in the Channel Islands.

Historicly the best is Maradona. But nowadays it's Messi. But it is really difficult to choose. In fact Iniesta is very close Messi.

I think that messi isn't so good, that he could be call the best player, he plays good only in Barcelona, where he to help iniesta,xavi. In national team he play much worse. So i think that the best palyer is Kaka, he is key player in national and club team;)

This question is not really esay. In fact, I think it depends where you play. But if I have to choose only one, I elect Diego Armando Maradona. This guy is a legend, he won the world cup praticly on his own and the same in Naples.
