Oh, I love this part.

If you're interesting in just plain XHTML/HTML, then a simple program like PSPad would do you nicely. However, if your interested in some more advanced programs, here's my list of recommended programs.

My favorite WYSIWYG editor of choice: Adobe Dreamweaver 8

When it comes to flash, the only thing close is Adobe Flash 8

Of course, how could you forget PHP? Definately, use the Zend IDE.

Java, but and nothing but, Eclipse.

And of course, if you need a good FTP program, SmartFTP.

I hope you can find some software that'll do you some good in the future.

Free ones?
Not sure about the prices of the ones posted above, but my picks for the best free ones would be:
For linux: Quanta + (Extremely good; even has a wysiwyg function)

For windows: Edit + (Not actually free, but the free trial never runs out; not quite as good as Quanta, but still very good.)

actually I use Notepad, i thing notepad is very Useful..support anything file type..html, PHP, JS...etc
but..if you want to use WYSIWYG editor, i recommended Dreamweaver MX.

I am actually looking for a good WSIWYG editor for Mac OS X that is free. I know I am being picky wanting the free versions but anyone who knows the magic answer I would much appreciate it.

nvu is the only free editor (which is wysiwyg) for mac os x. My personal favourite is Textmate and it simply rocks. It is only 39 euros and it has all the features one would dream of. just give it a try. macromates.com.
There is a free editor for mac os x but it is not wysiwig is smultron. It is also good but not as textmate.

You could fine a Windows emulator (which is legal) and run a free windows-based WYSIWYG editor. So long as it's not .NET coded.

No .html codes to know about and it makes cross browser compatible pages.
Support is generally pretty good too!

Someone from Lockergnome once recommended them. That's how i came to know them.

You can also use Bluefish if you use fink for OS X. IMO you should use NVU because it is easy to learn and there are a few plugins for it if you are going to use it for a cms site like Joomla.

I use the Netscape Page editor. Its very good, has HTML and WYSIWYG editor. Smile

Notepad ++ should be good enough.
