Scanning windows computers on Linux

Arno v. Lumig
Well, I didn't really know where to ask this question. The subject name has two operating systems in it, but it's still about an program. Anyway.

Is there any program that can scan windows partitions for windows viruses while on Linux?
So I can be sure that the virus is not running and disabling my virusscan etc. This will be done through a live CD of linux, or maybe DSL installed on an USB stick.

Thanks in advance,
Arno

You could try the UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD) It includes several bootable virus scanners, as well a live linux distro (called insert) and many other usefull features.

I know for a fact that you can configure ClamAV to scan FAT32 and NTFS partitions, but I cannot for the life of me find the article that shows you how to do it.

Yes, It's really a good solution. The bootable CD has lots of useful tools. Thank for the link.
