What is your idea of Heaven? I'm just interested to know how people visualize, and think of heaven.
I don't really believe in heaven, as I am non-religious, and just want to know what your ideas of heaven are.
Heaven, that is, being the "afterlife concept found in many religions" (Quote: Wikipedia)
Heaven is the place where I'm going to after I die.
peacefull life, happy family, and the power to overcome any shit we step on in our life.. to make it back to the way it was ...
This is what heaven in my point... it is right here.. in this very own earth.. between me and you.. in our hearts..
Heaven
A Wii in every room
Everyone is a vegan and actually does love animals
nobody gives a toss if you have long hair, short hair, black skin white skin
people speak proprely and dont say fo sho.
just to add to the question:
if a guy is doomed to hell for, for arguments sake murder and rape.
so he goes to hell, but, his idea of hell is: the stereotype of heaven, so what? he gets a life of luxury, or what?
what if he lieks the idea of hell, therefore aint a place of torture for him[/u]
Vegans? In heaven? I REFUSE to believe in a heaven that doesn't have nice thick, juicy steaks for me to chow down on!
I never really gave it much thought... I suppose heaven could be different for each person... "custom tailored" to meet each individuals specific fantasies and desires... kind of like a star trek hologram room...
And being that heaven doesn't exist in the third dimension as we know it, I don't think we are even capable of imagining what it's like, kind of like truly understanding the concept of infinity. It's just not possible.
Just think of it this way:
In a universe that is infinitely large, anything and everything is always happening... all the time... at the same time... no matter how remote the possiblity is.
Which means that if the universe IS infinitely large, then someone has already developed a weapon to destroy the entire universe, and used it, but yet we still exist! (Ok brain is having a paradox meltdown now)
Enough of that topic!
hey guys, if u wanna know the worst of heaven, read surah Al-Waqiah.
for more info, or to read the surah, goto http://quran.al-islam.com/
it has lots of things about islam there
Isn't proselytising against the rules in Islam?
Hmm.
If there was a heaven, I'd say it would be a heaven that could coexist with other heavens, and therefore was not a mutually exclusive heaven. We'd have the Jews and the Christians and the Muslims all holding hands with the polythestic religions. And no one would care for the difference. Heaven, I guess, to me, is the idyllic world, not necessarily with dead people. Nor a life after death, or a place, really. It could be a state of mind.
Well, all I know is that I sure as hell dont picture my paradise wih golden arches and streets of gold, mostly because, well, I hate the color gold.

it is good to be hopeful.
we have a story about the last man who goes to heaven.
he was a sinner in this world and commited every type of sin.
in resurrection day , God order to angels take him to hell.
angels capture him and take towards hell.he turns back in a great sadness. God asks him why he turned back.
ha says"o my God this isn't the way that i thought you will treat to me. i thought you are all-merciful and whatever sin do i commit you will forgive me and put me to heaven. "
God orders to angels "since he got a good thought about me , put him to heaven "
peace be upon you all.
In Islamic Heaven:
The Quran speaks allegorically (spelling?) about Heaven. But i think the essential message is that you will be in the prescence of God.
Islam also says that any monotheist unitarian can go to Heaven, if he/she believes in God, Judgement Day, and is a good/righteous person.
may God bless you all.
Heaven is spending all eternity in the presence of God!
Imagine a future with no pain or suffering, hatred or sorrow, no prejudice or anger....just spending forever in the presence of God and enjoying all the wonderful things He is preparing for those who believe in Him!!
joyfulheart
Human beings are really intertwined with TIME. There is an age for everything and time has everything to do with everything we do. Time is what worries most people the most. There is never enough Time. Not enough to eat, sleep, study, work, have fun, spend time with family, spend time with friends, spend time alone.... Time Time Time
Now imagine Heaven... Being happy...FOREVER. I mean, how long can we, say, eat good food, not having to worry about any illness, of finance, of a loved one dying, never a deadline to meet... How long can we be like that?
Sure, it'll be great for say, a few hundred years....but what about thousands of years? Just doing nothing...worrying about nothing...having everything....
The whole happiness of life comes from achieving things in the time that we have... So if there was no TIME, how can we be happy in the first place?
If anything heaven is a place of bliss - where humanity is free of all the seven deadly sins, and all humanly needs - there is no lust, there is no vanity, there is no gluttony, there is no jealosy, there is no need to eat, defocate, et cetera.
Heaven may or may not exist but if it does then maybe it is what we want it to be. Our hearts desire.
Do we become angels when we enter heaven or just beings of purity and free of sin?
drugs, sex and rock and roll
humans are not meant for heaven, if we talk about it in the christian point of view.
i ask one question:
is freewill diminished in heaven?
freewill = the ability to choose what to do. it seems to me we only get to choose "good" things to do in heaven. if evil does not exist there, then basically it's only made for PERFECT people. sure, there's jesus. he saves and grants entry to forgiven sinners- but does that mean they are incapable of sinning in heaven? or if they do, does god throw them out? not really settled with the christian view of heaven.
in my view,
if heaven is paradise or eternal happiness, then heaven must be a boring place. i believe it's still a mixture of things- (good & evil, happiness & sadness, white & black, etc). abolishing contrasts of "good" things is the death of the word. we are incapable of appreciating anything without its contrast.
as a matter of fact- life is heaven. if you think about it.
i would say more, but my brain is working against me.

Exactly my point... Even I'm non-religious and even I don't believe in Heaven... I don't believe in Hell either...I never believed that such places existed...
I just believe that after we die, we go to a place where there's no good and there's no bad, and people are allowed to do whatever they want...

Hades's Underworld?
Heaven is eternal life with God. I think that means that you can experience God's joy and love in a way that we can't even understand here on earth. It is eternal joy as we reach our final relationship with God.
Heaven is probably none of our business. Something we should worry about after we die.
It is true that, logically, we simply cannot know what heaven will be like. If, as Christianity believes, it is the place where our souls are united with God, then it's no more possible to describe heaven than it is to describe God himself.
But heaven is not just an embarrassment to human reason; sometimes it is just plain embarrassing, a wish-fulfillment fantasy that has more to do with appetite than faith.
Doesn't this stink, that this is truly what some people believe about Christianity...i think this is ridiculous...it is not embarrassing at all... i am a Christian and proud of it.
I'm agnostic so I have no clear definition.
Not that any Abrahamic religion is very clear on the subject either.
For me, it would have to be split into parts, like reincarnation. Maybe so you're not completely aware of your previous self.
I don't think there's another way that I could cope with the concept of eternity. No matter what shape or form that eternity comes in.
i think these stuff exist since it can't be a coincedence that all major religion mention it....
n futhermore i think that this world is hell...just think about it....is there anything you do that will bring you happiness 265 days a year??

My thoughts exactly!
I can't live without chevapchichi, I don't want to be dead without them, either.
We evolved from nothingness ...
so ... as it must inevitably come
to that ... we must dissolve into
nothingness ... nothing more
nothing less!
The concept of Heaven the way the majority of people seem think of it, has always sounded impossible to me. Happiness only exists because we are unhappy sometimes. If we were to be happy all the time we'd stop feeling it was happiness in no time. Despite of all the pain and misery we experience every now and then, we are in Heaven. Why couldn't this be Heaven?
(I am an agnostic)
