Now, if you are talking about hierarchies of outward beauty among the beautiful creations called human beings, I would say it's what's in the heart that shines through as beauty (or not) on the outside, especially with time:

But what I've said and quoted is not nearly as well put and succinct as benjmd's version above. Again, well done!
I think that existing is not sufficient. Health must be present. For me, existing and being healthy are what human being needs to be beautiful. In the same idea, I don't want to stay alive until 85 years old if I have to spend my 15 last years in hospital. I prefer a healthy life for 65 years.
