Gravity , RS models & extra dimentions

Physicist
Guys, i think you khow that gravity is at list-30 zero after 1 -times less then the other 3 fundumental forces. Why?
The Randal-Sandram models explained this first time by using extra dimentions. Its great.Lets discuss what we have understooood.

You probably mean the Randall-Sundrum model.

My understanding is that the basic formulation is :

Which element would you like to discuss ?

Cris,
According 2 RS-ll model our 4d universe is wrapped around 5d.It means our universe is the boundery of 5d.Closed string gravitons moves through the bulk or 5d. But what about other dimentions?
Can u explain super symmetry more than this'every Boson has a fermionic superpertner.
R u graduate or postgraduate student? If grad. Which yr?

I'm a lecturer/teacher of IT with only an amateur interest in physics (my degree is in IT).

In the RS model there are no other dimensions. The normal 4 (3 spatial and 1 temporal) dimensions sit as a membrane with other 4-D universes doing the same. They are joined by a 5th dimension.

Symmetry is a difficult concept to grasp unless you are familiar with relativity and basic cosmology. Here is a link to a nice video which should help...

Cris,
i have read RS-ll model does not need two membranes or universe. It was needed in RS-l.Just give google search of RS-ll model.
Or visit www.superstringtheory.com
in the article of extradimentions will get it. I think i m correct bcoz i read this. But u shd b correct.Plz search again.

No...you have misunderstood what you read. RSII does not posit a TeV brane because it supposes that the connecting 5th dimension is on a brane at the Planck level. This forms an Anti-deSitter Space.

Without wishing to appear rude I think that this particular model in cosmology is a little above your current level of physics and perhaps you should consider coming back to this in a couple of years. The math alone is quite trying and I doubt a 1st yr undergrad could deal with it, even if very able. That is not to say that I fully understand it myself...it is beyond my abilities at the purely math level, and whilst I can get the gist of it, I cannot easily translate it for you because my own grasp is quite tenuous.

There is no gravity, the earth sucks!!!!

( It has to be true, I saw it on a t-shirt once )
