AMD dual-core and Linux - Anyone running them?

I tried the combination a few months ago but I couldn't compile a new kernel with AMD64 support and the nVidia driver was hell. (This was with Ubuntu 6.)

Anyway, I'm curious to know if anyone is running this successfully and what distro are you using? Also, if you are using the Linux nVidia driver without any issues.

I have a HP server running Red Hat Enterprise 4 but I'm not using it as a desktop. It's using VMWARE server and it has VM's of Fedora Core 5 and 6 running fine. The server has an ATI card(or atleast the installer thinks so) so I don't know how it handles nVidia.
