scs
When you're starting a website you need to plan first Exclamation

1. Pick your website subject (education, games, shopping, etc.)
2. Plan your website structure(home page,about,services etc.)
3. Plan the website layout (menu to the left, banner to the top,new to the right)
4.Pick your desired program (dreamweaver & frontpage are best or any others like topystyle lite)
5.Pick your desired images (animals,pets,food)
6.Now start making it!

Now thats all i can say,run through the tutorials that the programs have for more detailed instructions

Thank you

It's different for different people. Most hardcore designers enjoy and get more satisfaction out of using Notepad. The people who're just making a website for the sake of the content rather than the actual coding (in general) prefer WYSIWYG editors like FP and Dreamweaver. Also, more experienced people prefer Notepad, as WYSIWYG editors take away a little bit of their freedom in designing.

I, however, use and enjoys FP Very Happy... primarily because I'm not an excellent designer, and I don't have the patience to go searching for the hexadecimal code of the colour I want to use. And also, I'm designing a very basic personal site with my philosophies/poetry/prose/humour and other writings...

Your forgeting the middle. Syntax highlighters and programs with shortcuts like auto complete can help without limiting you.

i still find dreamweaver rather complex to use. i find making a simple website it is much better to design with frontpage. Very Happy

Try HTML Kit. It will teach you the code, it is totaly FREE and has a visual editor in it also.
Top style lite is a good way to learn css also.
Also HTML Kit has a built in FTP program. Wink

just use textpad, then you really learn how a website works! I used frontpage in the past, but its good for basics but when you get the basics its not advanced enough!

HTML Kit is a text editor. And it has the code basics at your finger tips.
HTML Kit has many functions and uses up to and including php.
The plug-ins for it are to many to list.
Not to mention it has a built in site manager.
