Proxy Servers.

I just was curious as to what this means:


A) The following is strictly forbidden on our servers
    Resource intensitive activities, bots and proxies.



I just wondered if that means you can't set up a proxie server on your site as the first bit confuses me. Also if you can't set up a proxy server why not. I don't see anything wrong or illegal about it.

Proxies are not allowed here at FriHost for two reasons:

1. They take up too much resources and could be a big strain on the server
2. The proxy may be used for illigal activity, and the finger will point towards FriHost, which will bring bad publicity to us.
Bondings
Proxy servers are the cause of all evil. Wink

More seriously, they are indeed very resource intensitive and are very easy to abuse. They are definately not allowed.

It's not that you'll use it for anything illegal, it's just that other people use it for illegal stuff. As mentioned by wumingsden and Bondings, if it's used for illegal stuff (hacking, etc.), people will see it coming from FriHost's server.
