saving of file is very slow

i am using Pentium 4, 3ghz processor and i installed windows 2000, and have totally 35 computers on a wireless network,

now all system are infected ( Same problem), when i save or create a file it is taking a lot of times to save, if i open one folder or derive it is also take too much of time, and also if i am use a file to save though command prompt it is also taking same so much time, plese help me..

i installed symantec antivirus, and removed all W32.Blackmal..

and always running windows installed so i stoped windows installer service..

Most probably something is eating your memory. I would suggest a format though since you had use AV to clean it but the problem still persist.

Have you tryed a disk clean up and defrag. It works most of the time but if not go with Vyriix.

Another solution without wiping, is to basically make sure it is 100% virus and spyware clean and then shutdown your internet wireless connection, disable your virus checker / spyware checker and then run a Windows 2000 disc in the drive and choose to do a repair installation, which will recopy any corrupt or missing files, then afterwards, renable your protection programs, then your wireless internet, and download the latest stable drivers for your hardware, and hey presto!

control+alter+delete
disable the svchost that eats up most of your cpu.
close the box
try and move/copy/open files again.
That works.
why not upload a diagnosis report so the helps can be more to the point?
