Try reading the manual for your video camera. If there is nothing there, google it and if there's nothing on google, try capturing the video from your camera using another software like adobe premiere or camtasia, which will export the captured video as the format you want. If that doesn't work, I can't help you.
I don't have the manul. I will just wait for someone with the right answer. And i dont' have premiere. I tried to capture it but it didnt' work.
You bought a vid camera with no manual?
Anyways, sorry I couldn't help.

Which model of JVC my husband is a DOP I can maybe point you in the right direction. Too bad you don't have a mac or at least premeire. I do know a while ago JVC made its own software for their cameras though, have you checked their site.
It was one of the hard drive camaras. Other then that I really dont know much about the camara.
You didn't mean .MOV? I thought it was a typo.
Yes these are the problems if you don't have DV tape. They save in their own little formats that could quite possibly be a mystery to your editing software or player. You tried capturing out of the streaming output of the camera? I can't see why that wouldn't work if you detected the device through WMM.
