math on mediawiki

PriDe
Does anybody have any idea on how to install math support on media wiki?
Found this readme file:
Quote:

=== Requirements ===

OCaml 3.06 or later is required to compile texvc; this can be acquired
from http://caml.inria.fr/ if your system doesn't have it available.

The makefile requires GNU make.

Rasterization is done via LaTeX, dvips, and ImageMagick. These need
to be installed and in the PATH: latex, dvips, convert

To work properly with rendering non-ASCII Unicode characters, a
supplemental TeX package is needed (cjk-latex in Debian)

Does anyone know if the frih server has these or if the standard mediawiki-1.6.8 has?

Any help on how to set this or links to tutorials will be helpful!

Thank PriDe

LaTeX and ImageMagick are installed on the server, but I'm unsure about dvips.

Try the path /usr/bin - you could come up lucky and if it is there it may find the direct path.

imagemagick's path is: /usr/bin/convert

Enabling the math functions requires you to compile stuff, something that we don't allow here. I'm not sure if a precompiled binary is available or not, though.

Basically, it lets you post math equations to a Wiki running MediaWiki, and have them formatted nicely (like on the math articles on Wikipedia).

I thought it only had to be compiled once per server, and installed so the whole server can use it.

Thats what I also originally thought but Daniel is a whiz at this kind of thing. I'll ask Bondings though just to make sure.

Edit: Bondings thinks that Dan is right, therefore it cannot be used here at FriHost
