Increase ur DNS cache
Go to "Start|run" & type "regedit"
Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrent ControlSetServicesDnscacheParameters"
Right-Click in the right pane and create the following four DWORDS in the following order.
i. CacheHashTableBucketSize=dword:00000001
ii. CacheHashTableSize=dword:00000180
iii. MaxCacheEntryTtlLimit=dword:0000fa00
iv. MaxSOACacheEntryTtlLimit=dword:0000012d
2. Increase Reservable BandWidth (Only available in XP Pro)
windows reserves 20% of bandwidth for its own use by default, u can set it to a lower value or even zero.
Go to "Start|Run" and type "gpedit.msc"
Navigate to localcomputerpolicyadministrative templatesnetwork and highlight "Qos Packet Scheduler"
in the right pane doubble-click "limit reservable bandwith" & change the "Bandwidth limit %" to read '0'(zero).
U'll notice a boost in ur net speed
