How can I adjust my firewall to stop it from block some programs from accessing the internet. I use McAfee Security Center.

The easiest way is stop your firewall.lol
whenever McAfee pop up to ask you"Allow or Not", you should choose "Allow", if possible you can check the "Remember" box, let McAfee make a rule on the program
i use zonealarm .
