My site's front page is about 150k in size, I was told by "web site analyzing software" that this was waaay too much. It said that would take about 30 seconds for a 56k user to download. I have also made a 107k version of my site, which sacrifices some quality in the images. I might even be able to get it lower than that, but the quality would be much worse. I also have bandwidth to take into consideration, 150k means only about 50 unique visits a month (actually less, because people delete their temporary files).
So I'm not sure what to do.
Here are the two versions of the site (so far), the first is 150k, the second is 107k.

EDIT: I completely messed up those unique visit calculations.
10gigs = 10 000megs = 10 000 000k. Right?
10 000 000/150 = 66 666.7 semi-unique visits. (Once again, if a user clears their temporary files, it's another visit, so it's a bit less)
Man, I love freehost. I'm not as worried about this size thing anymore. Still though, give your opinion on loading times.
