Has anyone read Mark Danielewski's "House of Leaves"?
Fantasticly strange and creepy book. It's as much fun to read as it is to decipher. Which becomes neccesary considering how it was printed.
I've read it! I found it completely engrossing. Mark Danielewski did a great job...and yes, it really IS creepy. Most books that were made to be scary don't pull it off, even when they're well written, but this one certainly does:) I wish I could describe it better, but there aren't words.
And yes, as for the deciphering part: I've never had to read a book upside down before, nor have I seen so many footnotes go on for quite so long. What a bizarre piece of work.
Wow, thanks for the recommendation. In the past, I've been looking for creepy books. Nothing really seemed to do the trick. I will definitely be getting this book tomorrow.
If you enjoy it, you should post back here again and tell me what you think. I so rarely encounter people who've even heard of it...I never get the chance to discuss it with people who've actually read it.
