What amazes me about runescape is its popularity. I cant understand why people could spend hours in that game, the graphic is ugly and the gameplay is nothing outstanding. My eyes still hurt from playing that games, althought I only played a couple of hours.

God only knows how much I hated that game! I have this nooby group of people at school that are like "OMG TELL ME HOW TO GET A RUNE PLATE!" or "CAN YOU MAKE ME SOME ARMOUR?"! Its a frickn game made for 3rd graders that college aged people play cuz they have nothing better to do!
I like it a little. It's a good waste of time and it gets rid of bordom.

I actually love it because it is very FUN, but I agree it doesn't have great GRAPHICS, kinda like the old NES. It is my favorite console, but has the worst graphics, but people spent time on a story rather than designing 3D models and sticking them in a random place and calling it a game.

I got to like level 3, and quit. I couldn't stand it. The gameplay is boring, the graphics are boring and choppy.
I played a text-based game (MUD) for about a year on the other hand, and I loved that. So I'm not just into graphics. This game was fun.

The servers of runescape can not endure that, there are more 60.000 players almost everyday and see the servers can that.

I got to lvl 40 in Runescape, when I was in Primary 5 ( that was when I was 11 ) And I quit finding it "challengeless". But I do like the crafting system... But they could made it more complex like Renewal's. All in all 2/10 for RS. 8.5/10 for gunz. ^_^

I'm not trying to stand up for the game.. I'm just explaining the logical reasons for your questions.
I have played runescape and i have a lvl 56 character but i finially realized that what is the dam point of playing it there is nothing to do unless your a member and when you become one your paying about as much as world of warcraft costs and world of warcraft is about million times better.
And the i have a friend that playes it all the time and ive worked out that he has payed them over $300!!! you can do allot with that money.
But the most bothering thing I can think of is that you do the same bloody thing over and over and over everyday and and eventually after 5 years of playing so hard every day you go look at me im soooo good at it ive got a dragon full and a santa hat!!!!

well i think runescape is good. but i think is the best massive online multiplayer game. i dont know about any other so maybe that is y i like it but im a a total addict. its seems fun somtimesand boring at other. it is good for time pass.

Its not a bad game, but it gets lame after a short time. And there are so many n00bs and annoying people it totally ruins the game. To me its also a sorta "sissy RPG" cause it lacks the features of a real RPG. Like:

I still play runescpae once in a while. I get bored of it sometimes but its not that boring. They basically they get there money from people who buy members but I would never give them money to play a game. They have to many autoers and other things out there these days.
i agree that runescape is a waste of time. at the beggining of the year, nearly everyone in my school was playin it. i really dont get runscape. you walk around, you destroy stuff ( i think), and u collect stuff and money. fun, fun, fun. NOT!
I dont really agree. Even though the graphics suck and some people hate it for that, its really a good game once you get higher leveled. Gameplay pwns graphics.

What I meant as "Rares" are... Items that you can get ONLY from fighting monsters. I.E. in MUonline, you must hunt for Bless, Souls and Chaos.
All games should have a storyline. A storyline of how this thingy came about and what are the people in runescape fighting for. Blablabla. There's a point in a story.
With a party feature, people can share exp.
More things runescape lacks:
- Where in the world is the upgrade system?! I.E. +1 Rune Sword, +3 Rune Armour, etc.
- Where in the world is the " fight together " system!? I mean, fine, they are preventing KS-ing. But really, if we can fight together, it would be more fun!

I used to play Runescape, but recently quit.. again. OK, so I still play on occasion, but that's mostly to keep in touch with my friends. Yes, it can be rather fun at the beggining, but it becomes very repetitive later on. The 'noobs' and scammers and such were really annoying, but it is a bit better in the member worlds. It also takes too long to level up, and the combat system is very static. Overall, the game can be fun for a while, but isn't worth the amount of time(and money if you become a member) to make a decent character.

Runescape is pretty neat, I have to admit. I was playing way back in the day, when it was first invented and I still had dial-up and a 200 mhz Pentium I. God that was horrible! But then I finally got a decent comp and DSL, but then it was all screwed up. Like language filters and crap, I forget what else was messed up. I stopped playing for a while after that, but then I went back and took a look after the big update (the 3D characters and stuff) It looks pretty cool now, but I just haven't the time to play it (as a matter of fact, I haven't had a lot of time to play a lot of the video games I want to play. Man this sucks! I don't like school!)

Runescape is a really good game, with good ideas and programed well. I played it a lot, back when it was still runescape classic.
I don't play it anymore because theres nothing new things worth while for me to do, and eventually, jagex will add in so much new content in, and then the game will break and just be a massive mess.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Anyone whos played long enough knows these things:
1. Runescape does not cost unless you want extra features and you can create as many accounts as you want for the free version of the game.
2. You are saying anyone who plays runescape needs a life? do you know any of us in real life? no. exactly
. Also, who says we are on 24/7? I only play about an hour a day and im still high leveled.
3. Easy? No way, theres so much to do and many hard battles to fight, plus the wilderness where other people can kill you. its only easy if you stay at the lower levels forever.

u have got to say that theres somthing about runescape that makes it even more addicting than other games
i played runescape for about half a year. now i've moved onto dark age of camelot. firstly...the graphics aren't very good. secondly...the plot isnt that great. I think a good game consists of this:
1) Good graphics
2) Good Plot
3) Quick paced (no boring leveling)
4) Friendly community
Now im not meaning to be mean...but runescape pretty much lacks all of it. Especially the quick pace and community. I think all you scapers could at least try another game...(a good one like www.darkageofcamelot.com ) and then make your minds up about 'runescape being the best game ever'.

I started playing runescape in 2001 right when it started getting popular. I pvped against Bluerose13x once.
Since this is the RuneScape forum, I figured I'd ask this question here.
Whenever I play the game, everything looks to run fine. But what's really weird is that it skips every few seconds. It runs normally, freezes for a second, fast forwards through that second skipped and runs normally again. It repeats that like every few seconds. Not only that, my input seems to be delayed. I click somewhere to walk there and it takes a good 5 seconds for it to compute. Same with clicking things in my inventory and stuff. And typing is horrible. It responds fine for a second, skips, and takes forever to show what I typed. It's really annoying. Anyone else having this problem? I would ask at the RuneScape forums but they only allow member to post there.

there is another program running that is slowing down Java. Or your internet connection is being used by another aplication.
I would sell my runescape account but nobody here would want to buy it and it wouldnt be for frih$.

a much better game in my opinion is anarchy online. its also free. it has good graphics. not amazing like doom3 or anything, but good. it is an 800 mb dowmload, and has some problems with older computers, but its a much better game.

runescape is good because it runs through java, allowing to play not only on ms windows.
But I must admit games such as guild wars are nicer, it's just a pity they are tied to directx and windows. I'm sure their servers are even running on unix, and not windows...
They'd use opengl the port would be easier.

Choose how your character will look, and you'll begin Tutorial Island. This is fairly self explanatory, and will teach you the basics of the game.
Once you've finished Tutorial Island, you'll be 'released' into the big wide world. This is the step at which many people stumble, but you have an added advantage compared to all them - you've already discovered Tip.it!

i used to play...lol i think i just got addicted to the fact that i had a goal to get a certain item...in the end all i did was mine and smelt lol...yea...but once i got what i wanted i realized the game was so pointless so i quit..the game isnt interactive enough...all you do is click

I got to level 7 then I think it's a waste of time. I can probably make a better RPG than that. Even though it might not be 3D but still, probably better contend, set up, lay out, weapons, technology...
The game has a great potential, but worked out poorly. They could make it a great game, but it isn't. It could have been so much more.

Runescape is not such a bad game as some people say... It's graphics are not that good, but there are quests, lots of people and lots of things to do... All MMORPG are a waste of time, but rs is free. Theirfore RS is a free waste of time. As compared to world of warcraft being a $20/month waste of time.
I do play runescape, and i rock at it.

I play Chaotic Empires and Rise of Chaos, both pretty fun and turn based so you're not online all day. I also used to play Parallel Universe, MSWars, Ultimate Dominion(worst staff in gaming histroy) and Land of Nevard(worst coding in gaming history lol). I played a whole bunch more I've forgotten....Ultimate Dominion is like Runescape and I was level 218 there(yeah, I was h15 1337n355 )

I played RS for ages, I am only 13 so you can understand, but eventualy it gets boring. The thing I liked about it all was basicaly the smithing armour and making money. I'm a level 82 now, and I go on for like half an hour every month just to see any new updates. It's very addictive and I reccomend anyone not to start playing on it, if you want to game online. Buy something like Call of Duty or Counterstrike, don't go on the crappy 'un-1337' Runescape. You just waste your time and sometimes money, it seems ok at the start. Everything seems ok at the start though, doesn't it?

yeah i play this...im a level 50 miner.. but i want level 60 to get into the mining guild... but im not like one of those addicts.. im only a level 40 overall... most of the guys i see now are like level 70 and up.. thats rediculouse.. it takes me like 2 weeks to go up 2 levels because i hardly play.. and my account is over a year old. Lol, runescape... I've played that for years in the past, but it became so absolutely boring. Especially once I got cable and started to play better games. The graphics are just absolutely horrible, the features which it offers lack just about everything which you would expect from an mmo and the clicking... omg, it just started to drive me completely nuts .

Hah, I started playing Runescape one day when I was really bored, but playing it just made me more bored... I don't think I even got through lvl 1 before I stopped... -_-;
I started playing runescape online because i can't play any good games in my computer. So i play it whenever i'm online.

How could runescape be a copy of World of Warcraft? Runescape was earlier released.

I absolutely HATE runescape it is so rubbish. It is really good when you start but then it gradually gets more boring until you get more bored than you originally was too start off.
It was okay when you start because the quests were doable and the interaction with high levels wasn't too high. It was moderately fun to develop some skills. After the quests were done, the only thing to do was make money and buy better equipment. It quickly became unworth it. It was alright , but I played around 6 years ago.
Runescape is fun, until you r rich, wants your rich, you start to pk, after you get ambushed at least 100 times by noob clans, you get pissed off and angery and you start to scam, after you become WAY rich from scamming and steal 50 acconunts. You geet bored, and thats when u quit. So ya runescape is a big waste of time, however its fun while you play it, so all who r playing it should enjoy it

What amazes me about runescape is its popularity. I cant understand why people could spend hours in that game, the graphic is ugly and the gameplay is nothing outstanding. My eyes still hurt from playing that games, althought I only played a couple of hours.

Because graphics aren't everything! It's a fun game, and most importantly, it doesn't cost $20-30 a freakin' month to play. It's free or only $5 a month to play.
And it's written in Java. For it's language, it is a MASTERPIECE.

It's not always fair in the wildy. Because people with a high ranging level don't have a high combat level. So the people that are good at ranging can kill someone of the same combat level easily. And when internet is laggy, you don't have enough time to respond to something and you die.

Personally, I am addicted to the game, I moderate on a fansite. The game its elf, is very boring, but very addictive, and I do enjoy playing. I moderate on a the biggest fansite around (http://runehq.com) and it has more than 200,000 regular users. How Runescape have achieved such popularity is incredible. They have about 3million seperate members now, more than any other internet game. The link with mini-clip.com has boosted funds and members by loads, but has also filled the place with rubbish people with no idea how to play the game, who annoy everyone. No matter.

That's a bit obvious, isn't it? If people see the game 'runescape' on miniclip, they just click on it, because they want to play the game. But they don't know what the game exactly is. So they register, and don't know anything about the game.
lol i used to play runescape too....but once i got to like lvl 25 it got so boring and i quit, then i started playing lineage 2 and stopped that on lvl 67 then i was about to start playing guild wars when i said to myself why play these games when i always quit them and they get boring so ya now i moslty play americas army which is a first person shooter game and i also play counter strike 1.6 and counter strike source which are also first person shooter games...so ya im like more of a first person shooter gamer since those games are fast rounds and really addicting and fun, so ya...
Runescape resulted in me failing 8th grade. It was my very first MMORPG and I have many memorys of exploring the map. Now the map is over 6 times larger with like a million diffrent things. Now everyone plays WoW, which is like runescape for big boys.

Classic runescape was the best game ever. Me and my buddies played all day long back in the day. Then The new version came out and we thought it was gonna be great. We transfered all of our stuff to the new game. We didnt like it m uch, but we forgot to transfer our stuff back. MY character got locked on the gay one. Now you have to even pay for classic, which is the biggest load of all time. WE WANT CLASSIC BACK!

Classic sucks. The graphics are even worser than Runescape 2, the interface is not good, and it's only for members.
I start playing runescape every few years when I get bored. But the gain becomes repeative real fast and unless you are willing to pay.
I just could bring myself to pay $5 for it.

ofmg I h8 rs... I used to play it 24/7 and I got up to lvl 126 over 1,000,000,000 gp complete rune armor completed every quest had the ability to enter every guild. over lvl 100 in every skill I donated over 3,000 hours or more to that game.

i play rs, but for one reson, i look at the other mmorpgs and im like, i have to do all this comlicated sining up and theres like 3 people plaing it, go over to rs, oh, 70,000 people playing. I think ill play this. I also like the part about there being a society, anybody under the lvl 60 and your a noob. but the thing is you have to have paitence. you need like 40+ in like 7 stats to realy have fun. so you play for like 4 min and you dont understand it so you quit and bash the game whenever you see somone say runescape. just say i played it and i didnt like it. simple.

Its a waste of internet Bandwidth, a waste of peoples time, and it should be taken off of the web. When I was about 12 I played this game really when it first came, out an for one reason, because it was actually at the top of the pile on graphics at that time for mmorpgs. But that was years ago, now people playing it should be ashamed, only if you have the worst pc ever like a pentium 2 should you be playing this game. If you have a good pc and are playing this game, some advice go out and get a life. Whenever my brother tries to play this game I start uploading so its unbearable to play for him as I dont want him to ruin himself so much.

if u get past lvl 100 in every skill or over 100,000,000,000gp then u threw ur life away. to tell u the truth I played the game once it came out but now it's like the worst mmorpg games ever. To tell u the truth I'm well over lvl 100 in every skill and happen to have 189,327,581,709gp. ya I know it's embarasing. but ya... I wasted time.

It's a cheap alternative, $5 a month versus the games that are like $20+ per month. And it's not all about the graphics, the gameplay is catching (at least to me).

Runescape is fun in the beginning, but when you play it (about every 2 days) it will become boring. I've been memmber for a while, but I decided to unsubscribe because i didn't play it for months.
I used to play runescape. My friends and I used to play about a month or two back. We used to compete over stuff. But eventually it got very boring. Cause runescape is like a routine. You do the same thing over and over again. If you liked Runescape, then I suggest you start playing World of Warcraft. it is like runescape but muchh better. I don't play it much I actually program now. but my friend says it is a great game. You do have to pay for World of Warcraft, However if you feel that you will continue to play for a while, then I suggest you do play.

i'm lvl 83, and have a 37 alt, but i quit playing a couple months ago. now i put all my attention into web design. maybe, if i had the free time, i would play, but not right now. i have too many things to do that are soooo much more intresting than runescape.

I think you're too busy, because there are a lot of great games.
yes, take oblivion for example. if it dosn't melt your computer, then your gonna have a great time playing it.
I play runescape on a regular basis and i love it. Of course the graphics are not great, but what do you expect a game that overflows from perfect graphics. The servers of runescape can not endure that, there are more 60.000 players almost everyday and see the servers can that.
So Runescape is the best for cracking time.

Runescape is a great game!!! the graphics aren't great, but the size of the map, and all the details make up for it. Such a good game. Highley recomended. Cant be bad with 140,000+ users online when i am usually on. If u want to chat add me, my RS username is RangeNewah.

Hmmm...I might be more inclined to listen if you made coherant sentences...anyways, Runescape is just a addictive game. The community is really lame, but there's a few cool people around. I got to like level 75 or something, but I was extremely rich, being a merchant . The whole game is one huge economy, remarkably similar to a real economy, as soon as there's money to be made somewhere, people are there. And there are tiers to the economy as well, for instance:
Low levels mine rune essence, which non-member merchants buy at 20 each and sell to member merchants at 30 each, who turn around and sell to high level runecrafters at 40 each.
Much like real life where raw materials are obtained and sold several times at increasing prices until they end up as your coffee machine or whatever.
The skills system...one of its worse points. People spend months of their lives leveling skills which are next to useless. Like a level 99 blacksmith can make almost nothing compared to a smart merchant. I actually knew someone who had level 99 blacksmith and she said all it was good for was bragging rights. And the skills aren't easy to level up either. It's one of the hardest MMORPGs to level skills on.
The n00bs and beggars are actually a source of endless amusement. They will come up saying stuff like
'Plzlz i need sum armor!!!1'
or 'ur hot' followed by 'can i hav $$$'
And they will follow you for like 30 minutes some times. It's kinda creepy. Most of the strangest people I've ever encountered on the internet I met on Runescape...It's almost disturbing how much people will degrade themselves on an internet game.

omg!I LOVE runescape!!!I just stolen 2 acc a few mituts before.I gave them back ofcourse cause I lost a lvl 45 acc and belive me doods,it's realy hard!I'm lvl 52 now anyway and I don't think I will eaver get bored of this game

Wow, I haven't played runescape in months! I used to play it religiously, I had (might still?) have a paid membership. Despite the less-than-great graphics, it is overall a great game!

I would like to say that RuneScape has been updated to a 3D version, so its graphical work is far better than before (Yes, they HAVE knees now :P)...

i used to play runescape i was level 113 then i just left it it got all boring
Game is great, if you play it "occasionally" DONT GET ADDICTED my friend wasted "6 years" on it
I went up to lvl 80 combat and didnt come back since...Don't get sucked in, it'll waste your life...It's one reason why I'm staying away from WoW
all games are a waste of time really, not just runescape. you dont get anything good out of it. you just lose money by paying to buy it or electricity to play it. some games have a little bit of education in them. runescape teaches alloys and improves math skills if your charactor is a merchant. all games are is entertainment. and without entertainment life would be boring as hell.

Now that I think about it, this game was very addictive because i was like lvl 75 in like 1month of play non-stop, personally i thought that i was gonna be the best but once you get past like lvl 75 in my opinion i think that it takes to long to upgrade to the next levels. And then there are other people always around you that make you look bad cause there way stronger than you are. I thought it was a pretty good game but i dunno i also think that its a waste of time.
Yeah it is a waste of time. I had a level 76 character with over 7 million in cash and full saradomin armour. I just gave it away to my friend.

I used to play for ahours aday over the summer 2 years ago, but now I think its a huge waste of time, I havent played in a few months because I think that its too childish, and it lacks some features that would be useful, like classes or an easier way to avoid wasting time mining. There are also no interesting ways to make money.

house next to the cake stall. (This door needs a certain theiving level,
if you are not yet of sufficient level go to the opposite house, and train
on the door there and the chest inside.)
When inside the house, to the right of the door is a ladder. Go up this
ladder, and you will see two chests. In the chest farthest away from the
ladder, and nearest the bed is Nature Runes. Keep stealing from the chest
and you will get lots of Nature Runes. At current Runescape prices Nature
Runes are around 100-300gp.
If you are unable to access members world, dont worry. Go north of Falador
untill you rach the mountain. go round the left hand side of the mountain
so that you have the Goblin Viallge on you left. Keep going up untill you
reach the Wilderness. At level 3 Wilderness there is a Dark Wizard spawning
site. Collect runes here and sell them in Falador.

rs2: full d, santa hat (why would you buy a santa hat when its not christmas and it friggin costs 6,000,000) 146qp and tones of runes and all together probably totals like 18m worth of other stuff

*sigh* Such an old game... They say runescape three will come out in like 2007... Better be like a billion times better... You know they have assigned objects in their system so they can just programm their chars better and just upload them... Why they don't do it... I have no idea... Also they should make the battling more realistic... seriously it's like your motioning at the guy with a mini sword that suddenly does 14 damage... it's like wow... and when you're running and you are arching and the other guy turns positions while you attacked allready the arrow will curve... :O . Lol ya... pretty wierd.
Like all things there is a period of addiction bordom and frustration... First the game, like all other will be fun and get addicting (no matter the game and no matter the quality.. I dare you to play any game right now how ever crappy a few times.. you will get addicted), but this stage varies very largly... Also then there's the bordom where you've played it so much that you are just bored with it and don't want to play with it anymore... After a frustrating time to find a better game, after a while the game you played will become addicting after a while...

Lol, I couldnt agree more its graphics are HORABLE. It turned me off after like a week. Now I just hack peoples accounts, or Jagex. Its a flash game so its run all on memrey making it a sinch.
