Stopping spam in Outlook Express

Diablosblizz
Hi, ive been getting spam emails from sites i've never signed up for. I get like 3 e-mails per time, and usally they send it every 10 minutes, then they wait a hr or 2, and then they do it again.

My Firewall/AntiVirus/Spam Assistant (If you herd of Cogeco Secruity Services, which is run by F-Secure) works, but when the spam is caught, it goes into the trash can, and I would like it just to remove it.

I have tried blocking the domain (*@mail.com) and that didn't stop it (I blocked it in Outlook Express and my Cogeco Secruity Services).

Please help me, ive been getting these emails for a month now, and its pissing me off.

Thanks for your help!

Block terms like "viagra" and "sale" from the server side of your mail account. I know Lycos allows this, and it is how I get most of the spam out of my inbox there. Then set your mail to purge the account after you logout and after 1 day. That's the best I can come up with outside of writing a script to do it and executing it at 1 hour intervals using a cron job.

Personally, I don't know anything about making scripts or installing them (on programs). I do not know how to add "blocked" words either.

check to see if your antispam allows u to block by words in its configuration screen. If it does add them in. You can try using "mail rules" that comes with Outlook Express if you don't have an effective antispam program. You'll have to create quite a few though.

Eg: If mail from: SPAMMER, then delete of SERVER

Just look for it under the dropdown menu list. Under tools if i'm not mistaken. You should be able to create rules to delete mails with certain keywords in subject hearder etc. Have a go at it.

Unfortuantly, my spam handler only blocks address, no words.

There is a program I have been using for 2 years now call Mailwasher. It lets you blacklist senders and bounce back e-mails and such, and can be set up to do this with your account and when is is done it will start outlook with only the messages you want to receive.

We can use antispam software to stop spam email.

Pliz googling. Or we can visit freeware/shareware download site like : www.download.com, www.freeware.com, etc.

I usually using SpamBayes (full freeware). I'm satisfied about this product. It stop SpamBayes almost perfectly (stop > 95% spam email).

SpamBayes works with Outlook & Outlook Express.

Link for SpamBayes :

I think spam or junk mail is part of our life now. No need to be too upset or pay too much attention to it. Otherwise you are just falling into the trap.

For me, I just set up a rule to forward all email from the senders that are not in my address book to a folder. And press CTRL+A (select all) then SHIFT+DEL (delete without going to deleted folder). That's it! only takes 2 seconds each time I do a Send/Receive. Smile

I know you are worry about someone new send you email. From my experience. It never happen and I always add the address of those I expect to receive email from. Trust me, it works! Wink

why not block those addresses that are spamming. also, u could use Norton Antispam. that's gud. u could also use SPAM assasin. that's very useful in combatting spam. i think that there are some web based services that automatically list some messages that can be spam. then u can moderate them. just like Akismet in wordpress.

The best way to stop spam is to look at the mails on your ISP serverver.
Mailwaser will do this before you download any to your PC.
It cat display part of each mail and the sender e-mail address.
If you don't want any, delete them from server then download only the ones you want.
This will also protect you from dubious attachments or scripts that could mess up your PC.
