How to modify contents of a game save in a PS2 memory card ?

toughtrio
I just wanted to know in which format are the game save files on the memory card stored. In 30 to 60 kb, an average game can store everything, progress, weapons, and all other intensive stuff. So if we'd be able to modify, like changing the money value to whatever u want, or to skip the level, then it'd be a nice idea.

Anyone having knowledge on how to perform such a task, by using even gameshark or something else.

Warm Regards,

I have heard something about this, you can use something called sharkwire/sharkware or something similar to transfer save files across from your ps2 memory card to your PC, whether there is another method i'm not sure. I should imagine a simple hex editor would do the job for you. Something like Hexedit or Hexworkshop or even a simple yet powerful DOS hex editor called HIEW. A simple search on google will find you this software. Razz. As for the ammo, life etc... i would imagine a cheat engine like Action Replay or Gameshark would do that.
