Unable to reinstall modem driver(urgent)

Hi guys,
I am using airtel internet through serial cable (mobile). The problem is in reinstalling the modems driver.

when i format my system and install fresh windows XP. I am able to install my modem through Phone and Modem Options and then add modem.

But after 6 months(today). when i removed my modem and again tried to install the modem an eror occurs:

Is it a result of automatic windows update???

message came up but i'm still able to install it. Is it posible that the last time you wanted to install something that wasn't windows verified you ticked a option that ignored all other future scenarios's if something wasn't verified?[/quote]

I don't think so. Windows updates, if anything, would make the notice not come up (this would happen if the update contained the drivers being windows verified). I did have slight trouble with installing my phone drivers. When un-installed then installed again sometimes the notice would come up and give me the option, sometimes it didn't. Try un-installing the drivers once again then connect the phone without installing the drivers. The PC should then find it and ask you to locate the drivers. Most products tell you not to do this but this is usually one of the ways that works for me.

some kind of settings have been changed. if it says contact your system admin, then the setting is probably changeable. i think blueray in onto something. where did you find this dialog, bueray?

also, you might contact the people who made the modem, and ask for an updated driver.

I would guess the threadstarter log on into a non admin account and thus have no permission to install non verified drivers. Good security update I would say.
