MD5 Hashing

yule
Hello all,

In this tutorial you will learn how to encrypt text and other things using the MD5 algorithm. You cannot decrypt MD5 so it makes it good for encrypting thing such as passwords when using a login system, you may want to use MD5 to encrypt the password and then authenticate it. Makes it more secure.

So here is what you do. To do a basic encryption you simply do something like this.
Code:

<?php
$unhashed = "Im using MD5 encryption!";
$hashed = md5($unhashed);
echo "$unhashed - $hashed";
?>

Then of course you can do whatever you want with it. For those of you who didnt understand what was ahppening there or you dont understand what to do. Basically you take a variable with text that you want to encrypt and you put the variable name in between the parenthesese of the md5(); function. Like this.

Code:
md5($variable_name);

Its as simple as that. I hope this was useful. Enjoy!
