My mom set the stove to high, forgot to tell me about it, and the sauce and meatballs formed a shell on the bottom of the pan. I stuck it in water and most of the "shell" floated up, so I grapped it and snapped a quick shot of it, my hand is in there for comparison, it was about a centimeter thick:
